CanaKit 3.5A Raspberry Pi 4 Power Supply (USB-C)

> 3 dayIt does what it is supposed to do; the PI does not suffer power undervoltage even when overclocked; but there is a large flaw which is that the power supply has no switch; so you plug it in and the PI goes on and stay on until you unplug it.

> 3 dayBought this to use as a power supply for a Ubiquiti Cloud Key as I didn’t have a PoE port available. Works great for that purpose.

> 3 dayI’m using this power supply because of many recommendations. Apparently many general purpose supplies can cause the Pi to act erratically.

07-06-2025No power switch, so a bit disappointing. It should have been a no-brainer.

> 3 dayThis power supply is high-quality, well-made and a good value considering you get the full promised power output. The cord is UL Listed, and feels like a good cord thickness and length. I previously was using a cell phone USB power supply and would occasionally receive under power error messages. I havent received any since switching to this supply. The only drawback is that it is a full sized plug as opposed to a slim one, so it might take up more space at your power outlet.

Greater than one weekCritical Element Missing - On/Off Switch. Absolutely disgusted that CanaKit would assign this P/S as Raspberry Pi 4 dedicated. CanaKit would intend user to pull the AC wall plug or yanking the USB-C plug from the Pi each time of power Off. Cant be more disgusted. Doubt Ill ever buy CanKit again; you cant put lipstick on this pig.

> 3 dayI built a couple nas boxes using pi4s. Some are using 4 bay external hard drive enclosures, which come with their own beefy power supply and I printed an adapter and bought an SATA power cable extension so that I could tap the 5v from there. Those boxes never get throttled.
