Just received this a couple of days ago. Spend the money and purchase this photo printer. Im sort of a challenged person when it comes to setting up electronic stuff. But this was an easy set-up. The prints are comparable to CVS etc. Plus the creative option on this printer lets you do more things to your prints. This has a nice carry handle so you can take it anywhere that has a hook-up for your power cord. The pics are pricier than at CVS but you have the convenience of printing them almost anywhere. Also be smart and buy extra picture pks. This does not come with any. I have a regular size all-in-one printer but for photos only this cant be beat. I have been looking at these for a couple of years now. Our 3rd grandchild is less than a year old and I can immediately print pics right after I take them. Plus we live in an RV nearly 7 months of the year and I now I wont have to wait to get my pics printed. Plus the size of this is very convenient. As a few other people have said, all I can say is WOW. This was one of my best purchases in a long time. I thought I had ordered enough printer pks but now Im going to order more. I do not want to have to search for more in case I run out as well be snow birds heading south in just a few weeks and I want to make sure I have enough pic pks. I have also ordered a similar Selphy printer for a christmas gift and hope she likes hers as much as I like mine. Dont put off ordering one of these and I really recommend the Selphy ES40. To put it simply-its just the greatest. So glad Cannon designed these. Thank-You

I brought this printer 4/6/11 and I use it to do even photography, where I need to print pictures out on the spot at a club, and the pictures come out to magenta or brown and I tried to adjust my camera in many ways and it doesnt change. They really dont have adjustments on the camera to really help you use it and they really dont have controls that are user friendly. The picture quality is horrible and I would rather, as a professional, step up and pay the money to get what i really need. So I am taking it back to the store I brought this from and return it and get my money back.Personally I dont like the unit and wouldnt recommend it to anyone, but every need is different.

Although this printer was originally not compatible with Lion, the problem has now been fixed and it is compatible. This printer is amazing. The picture quality is wonderful. If any Project lifers are out there, this printer is perfect for project life.

This little printer is a powerhouse! It prints a photo in about a minute and, I have to say, the print quality is phenomenal! Its the closest thing to film print quality Ive seen from a printer. Setup is a snap. you open a cartridge, open the cartridge door on the side of the printer, take out the cleaning cartridge, remove the orange retaining clip from the back of the new cartridge, insert it into the printer and close the door. Now, youre ready to print. Just put your memory card into the printer, select the photos, cropping, effects or frames you want and press the print button. 60 seconds later, you have your print. My only complaint is that the Photo effects, which are available on the printer, are not included in the software for your computer. Oh yeah, While you can hook up a USB cable to your Selphy and print from your computer, you can also use it completely independent of a computer.

I print a lot of pictures using HP Photo printers. When I received the SELPHY from someone who bought it but never tried it, I wondered how this odd-looking printer would work. It worked so well that I hate to go back to my usual printer when I need larger-sized photos. It is easy to use, fast, and the results look great. I like the black and white option as well as the small prints. Ive recommended it to my friends.

I received the Selphy ES40 as a birthday gift after several hints. It took a bit of doing to gather everything together to make it work as there was no paper included with the printer. The clerk at Best Buy sold the gift giver the wrong type of photo paper and this was discovered only after the box of paper was opened and BB would not take it back. TAKE NOTE ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN PURCHASING THIS PRINTER: the Canon Easy Photo Pack (E-P100/Ink & Paper)that is needed to use in this printer is available only ON LINE through Amazon or directly from Canon. Plan ahead before you purchase it to make sure you can get the correct photo pack and you will then get carried away once you start printing your pics. One drawback is that if you plan to print from an xD-picture card, you will need an adapter for this (instructions in the guide state this is commercially available), but I have NOT been able to find this adapter anywhere on line or at any photo store Ive contacted or visited. This has been my biggest disappointment with this printer as one of my cameras uses this type picture card and Im not able to print those pictures without the adapter. It seems to me that Canon should include this adapter with the printer.

I love it. The quality of the photos are better than what I get from local Walgreen or CVS Photo. Yes, it take long to print a single photo but the wait is worth it for the quality of the print. I wish it had large print version.

I just bought this printer last night and I LOVE it. I printed all 50 pictures in the photo pack with absolutely no problem. No, it doesnt come with the USB cord but I just used the USB cord from my old printer and it was a perfect match. I compared the quality with pictures I had printed from Target and they would equal if not better. I wish it told you how many prints you have left before the ink/paper is gone and maybe it does but I havent found the option yet. The ink is a little expensive but I think its so worth it for the convenience. I always have problems at the photolab, from the kiosks being down, to the kiosks not being able to read my memory card or disks, and of course, rude customer service. I took some awesome pictures of my tree and ornaments last year and plan to send them out next Christmas as cards thanks to the postcard on the back of the prints. Anyway, Amazon is selling this for over $200 and I bought it locally at Best Buy for $85.99 and I saw it advertised at Bestbuy.com for only $99. Its only $150 on Canons site. Hope no one pays over twice the price!
