> 3 dayI love this little printer. The quality is so clear and I can print so many different sizes. It is perfect for Scrapbooking. I had the smaller selphy before and it worked ok but it didnt have nearly as many options. The only problem is that I have had trouble connecting it to my computer because I have too new of an operatin system on it. I dont care though it still makes me happy.

> 3 dayMake sure to order at least one pak of paper/ink with this as it does not come with any in the box. Ok so you are thinking about buying one of these little gems. I purchased one of these the other day for the Santa Claus gigs I do. I am a professional Santa and this year we have added the ability to get a picture with Santa. I needed something compact with good quality and good speed. After reading about all differnt types of printers I decided to go with this one. This is not the first dye sub printer I have purchased so I knew a bit about them before. Lets start with setting it up, out of the box you plug it in load the paper pak and away you go. Open the side door to load the paper pack which comes as 1 unit paper and dye sub ink all in one piece. It slides right into the printer only 1 way it can go no way to screw this part up. Now either connect a camera directly through the USB Pictbridge connector or you can just pop in your memeory card. If using a memory card the pictures come right up on the screen and you scroll to the one you want and push print. Within 43 seconds from the time you hit the button you have a very nice very sharp picture.(even better than a print form your local picture printing loaction) When printing directly from your camera you tell your Pictbridge enabled camera to print and it prints in the same speed from the camera. Now the only down side with printing directly from the camera is that you have to wait for it to completly print before you can take another picture. For our Santa pics we do not have time to wait so I have interfaced my DSLR camera through a computer to speed up the process. So there is the basics in a nut shell but it does more. You can do some basic editing of your pictures like cropping and so forth. There are preloaded boarders you an choose directly from the printer to add a little zip to your pictures. It even has voice prompts, yes you read that correclty voice prompts. You can also choose to print the picture in a few ways like 2 on one page or many thumbnails like a contact sheet. There is software that comes with it but I have not even used it yet. There are differnt types of paper paks that Canon makes for this some with pre printed boarders like for Christmas, or foil print ones that will do a gold or silver type boarder. The pictures will last for many years they are rated for 100 years before fading also these pictures can be completly submerged in water and will not destroy them. So go give it a go you will not be sorry that you purchased this.

> 3 dayI purchased this printer for my girlfriend. Shes not a very electronics saavy person and will usually not even bother to attempt learning about new gadgets. She basically plugged this printer in and was printing in less than 2 minutes. Picture quality was good. Printer speed was average/good so no complaints. The paper/ink combo kits are fantastic. You always have the exact amount of ink for the amount of paper in each package so you never run out of one before the other. Very compact and light weight. LCD screen is a great feature. Overall this is a great printer and very worth your time, epecially for such a great price! MUST HAVE! (Update 4/25/13). I have now owned this printer for over 3 years and its still a fantastic product. The reason Im updating this review is because of the drastic price increase. I purchased this product in 2010 for $50. It is now listed for $350. Its probably worth the money if you have it to waste, but because of the crazy price increase, I would look for something else. Now, If you do decide to buy this product in spite of the price, you wont be disappointed in terms of quality.

> 3 dayI just bought this printer last night and I LOVE it. I printed all 50 pictures in the photo pack with absolutely no problem. No, it doesnt come with the USB cord but I just used the USB cord from my old printer and it was a perfect match. I compared the quality with pictures I had printed from Target and they would equal if not better. I wish it told you how many prints you have left before the ink/paper is gone and maybe it does but I havent found the option yet. The ink is a little expensive but I think its so worth it for the convenience. I always have problems at the photolab, from the kiosks being down, to the kiosks not being able to read my memory card or disks, and of course, rude customer service. I took some awesome pictures of my tree and ornaments last year and plan to send them out next Christmas as cards thanks to the postcard on the back of the prints. Anyway, Amazon is selling this for over $200 and I bought it locally at Best Buy for $85.99 and I saw it advertised at Bestbuy.com for only $99. Its only $150 on Canons site. Hope no one pays over twice the price!

Greater than one weekThis isnt my first Selphy but I like it better than my previous ones. I do a lot of traveling and I love the way this one is compact. I also prefer the way the cartridge is set up with ink and paper instead of being separated n the other version I had, less to keep track of when Im out and about.

> 3 dayOh, I was so excited to buy this product, based on all the reviews I read; here on Amazon and elsewhere. So I ordered it. Oh well, Ive lost money on other purchases as well. The unit is very easy to set up, and if you follow the beginners guide, you can generally produce the prints you want with relative ease. Once I set the unit up, I was able to print out several photographs from my memory card. The prints are decent, though a bit washed-out compared to what you can generate via a printer. On day two and subsequent days, I was not able to generate any more photos. I tried over 10 (!!!!) memory cards, and each time, the screen reads: CANNOT READ DATA FROM MEMORY CARD. CHECK THAT THE MEMORY CARD CONTAINS IMAGES. They do. Well, that was it. I havent been able to print anything on this since day one, as I get the same error message. Even when I connect the unit to my computer, I get error messages. Dont even get me started on what it was like trying to deal with customer service. Scratch that. There was no service for this customer, just a lot of run-around which led to a representative who said something of the effect, Gee, thats really strange. To read these other reviews, I may have got a bum unit, as buyers seem to be happy with the product. I was too until it petered out on me. I suspect part of it has to do with bugs in new technology. Oh well, I still have a printer attached to my printer. And Walgreens.

> 3 dayI love it. The quality of the photos are better than what I get from local Walgreen or CVS Photo. Yes, it take long to print a single photo but the wait is worth it for the quality of the print. I wish it had large print version.

> 3 dayI received the Selphy ES40 as a birthday gift after several hints. It took a bit of doing to gather everything together to make it work as there was no paper included with the printer. The clerk at Best Buy sold the gift giver the wrong type of photo paper and this was discovered only after the box of paper was opened and BB would not take it back. TAKE NOTE ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN PURCHASING THIS PRINTER: the Canon Easy Photo Pack (E-P100/Ink & Paper)that is needed to use in this printer is available only ON LINE through Amazon or directly from Canon. Plan ahead before you purchase it to make sure you can get the correct photo pack and you will then get carried away once you start printing your pics. One drawback is that if you plan to print from an xD-picture card, you will need an adapter for this (instructions in the guide state this is commercially available), but I have NOT been able to find this adapter anywhere on line or at any photo store Ive contacted or visited. This has been my biggest disappointment with this printer as one of my cameras uses this type picture card and Im not able to print those pictures without the adapter. It seems to me that Canon should include this adapter with the printer.
