> 3 dayI love this stuff- not only does it make my leather look great, it also makes it a bit tacky to the touch. I love it on my dressage saddle, it really helps me get that extra grip to sit my horses trotwork (hes like sitting a jackhammer). I also like how it kind of repels moisture- Ive had to use my brand new saddle (ok almost a year old now, but it still looks brand new) in the rain a handful of times when weve been caught out at home and at shows. I put this on generously before riding when I know I will get rained on and I never have watermarks or any kind of moisture marking when Im done riding. I have not tested the theory in a raging downpour, only generic rain.

Greater than one weekThis is the best leather balm for saddles! Ive been using it after every ride to help break in my new saddle. It also keeps it looking really nice. It does darken the color a bit (Im an artist so I notice these types of things more than others), but its not dramatic and I really like the look. The smell is also wonderful. Not overly oily, and soaks in really well. Highly recommended!

> 3 dayI read a lot of reviews before purchasing this and got the impression that people were divided about the aroma. The same thing is true of Effax Lederbalsam, and I love the beeswax-lanolin smell of that one, so I thought I might like the smell of Belvoir too. Not so! It is intensely floral, like some weird perfume, and I spent a long time trying to figure out whether the flower it reminded me of was ilac or lily of the valley. I made my mom smell it and she thought lily of the valley. Mind you, I love the smell of *actual* lilacs and lily of the valley flowers, but I wasnt crazy about that smell in a leather conditioner. I gave it to my mom and I think Ill either stick with the Effax or make my own. (My only complaint about Effax Lederbalsam, which is in all other respects wonderful, is that eventually the smell can can go a bit rancid, probably because they use avocado oil, which has a short shelf-life. I was thinking of making my own lederbalsam out of beeswax, lanolin, and jojoba oil, which should be shelf stable.)
