I bought one 20 years ago and its still going strong. It outlived my first two cats. I bought a set for my new cats so I could have them in different rooms.

Absolutely love these toys. My one perfect boy was caught trying to get up on the table to get it

These are basically wires with a piece of cardboard twisted on the end for a bit of weight. I think you know what Im saying... The first thing I thought myself was that I could make it at home with a trip to Home Depot.

This toy lives up to the hype! My cats go bananas for it, they even play with it when we’ve tired out and it’s on the floor. They stripped the paper rolls off the fist one, so I bought more - at this price, why not? Great for exercising our smooshier kitty, too.

When I first saw this I thought “really, that’s it?” But who knew some cardboard on a wire would be a favorite toy for my 3 cats. They love chasing it in the floor or bouncing around like a butterfly. Great fun for the $$

This is the worlds best cat toy. Best. Cat. Toy. Simple, but entirely engaging and they NEVER GET TIRED OF IT. Perhaps its the interactive element, because it is a co-play toy. But, we all benefit from quality time with our animals, right? So, but this rosy and start having fun :) PS: as you may have guessed, my cats write the Title for this review.

Careful what you wish for, I guess? Pros: - cat is looking happier, healthier, more athletic than ever - we adopted him very over weight, and the play seems to be helping with regulating his appetite and rhythms. - this thing is laughably affordable in proportion to its efficacy. It’s not the kind of thing I expect to be built to last- it’s basically some little tubes of cardboard on a wire lol. Cons: - yeah, basically he’s so into this thing that he won’t stop yelling at me to keep playing. Good thing i actually find this more fun to use than the other wand toys

I first saw one of these about twenty years ago, and quickly formed the opinion that this is the best cat toy I have ever seen. It’s just little bits of cardboard on either end of a coiled wire, but when you move or twist it, the cardboard on the end flutters like a moth. (We call it “Mothie”.) Every cat I have tried it with is instantly fascinated, even cats that turn their noses up at catnip mice, feather toys, things on strings, and laser toys. Every day, my partner’s cat walks over to where it is and looks at me as though to say “OK, let’s play Mothie”, and other toys are just no substitute. Her previous cat was hard to get to play, but went crazy going after any flying insects that got into the house. When I got her one of these, her eyes immediately lit up and suddenly she wanted to play. The tension in the wire seems just right to allow different types of movement depending on how you hold it – bobbing up and down, swishing from side to side, or (if you twist it just right) fluttering like a real flying insect. I think that’s what makes cats’ eyes light up when they see it: it seems like a real insect that needs to be caught. For a piece of wire and a bit of cardboard, it is surprisingly durable. It will last for months of daily play. I thought a cat would quickly chew the cardboard to bits, but it seems to be remarkably tough. Eventually, the wire will lose some of its bounce or the cardboard bits will separate and slide up the string and it won’t seem alive anymore. But it’s cheap to replace, and can be bought in a 3-pack. I would be cautious about how you whip it around. You don’t NEED to thrash it about hard to get the cat’s attention, and the wire is stiff enough to sting the cat if you accidentally slap it with the wire. The motion of the curved wire is also a bit unpredictable, and I’ve hit both myself and the cat in the face with it a few times, and try to make sure I don’t hit either of us in the eye. And if the cat has it in its claws or mouth, don’t yank it, because it’s wire, not soft string or yarn. Experiment with different motions – little twists with the fingers, and holding the curve of the wire at different angles – to find what generates the realistic motions that your cat responds to. It’s hard to predict exactly how it’s going to move, but with a little practice you’ll learn how to produce different felitropic motions. This is a “chase and catch” toy, and if your cat likes to play at chewing or tearing at its “catch”, you’ll want to have another toy ready for that, as there’s not much to bite and it’s too small to grab with all fours. But the cat I use it with is happy to stalk off to the other side of the room and get ready for another running pounce. Really, if you know a cat that has lost interest in its toys, you really need to try this one

Reviewed in the United States on August 24, 2021 Size: Pack of 1 This is my cats favorite toy and mine. I cant tell you how many laughs Ive gotten, from watching her play with it. I took videos and sent them to all my family members and they each got one for their cats! Long lasting, great value for the price, and made in my home state of Wisconsin. USA made! You do have to be careful not to whip it too hard, you can bop the cat on the head or poke yourself in the eye. I highly recommend this toy! I would supervise with young children.

This a simple toy captivates their attention and keeps our cats active for as long as the human at the other end is willing to be the “motor.” We move the cat dancer in all directions, slipping it under chairs, dipping it into an (empty) tub, tapping it on top of a bed, snaking it along the floor: aerobics for all. When left on the floor, they sometimes play with it by themselves. When stored in the toy cabinet, they come running when they hear us open it.
