They dont last long because cats love them to destruction!

I don’t know why but this thing makes her completely lose her mind. She’ll pounce on it until I’m wiped. It’s seemingly impossible to destroy. It’s simple but a classic

This is the most amazing cat toy ever ! My cat goes crazy over it. She has never reacted to a toy like this before. It moves like a live insect and when she bats at it, it keeps moving and she runs and jumps in circles to catch it. Its so funny to watch. My cat has a bit of a weight problem and I have been looking for toys to get her running and jumping and this does exactly that!! The only bad thing I can say about this is my cat never gets tired of playing with it and my hands and wrists start hurting after 30 minutes of playing.

My cat is obsessed with the Cat Dancer! It’s such a simple toy, and yet it’s her favorite. The cardboard pieces mimic a bug’s sporadic movements. She does tear them up rather quickly, but for such a low price that’s not a deal breaker.

I first saw one of these about twenty years ago, and quickly formed the opinion that this is the best cat toy I have ever seen. It’s just little bits of cardboard on either end of a coiled wire, but when you move or twist it, the cardboard on the end flutters like a moth. (We call it “Mothie”.) Every cat I have tried it with is instantly fascinated, even cats that turn their noses up at catnip mice, feather toys, things on strings, and laser toys. Every day, my partner’s cat walks over to where it is and looks at me as though to say “OK, let’s play Mothie”, and other toys are just no substitute. Her previous cat was hard to get to play, but went crazy going after any flying insects that got into the house. When I got her one of these, her eyes immediately lit up and suddenly she wanted to play. The tension in the wire seems just right to allow different types of movement depending on how you hold it – bobbing up and down, swishing from side to side, or (if you twist it just right) fluttering like a real flying insect. I think that’s what makes cats’ eyes light up when they see it: it seems like a real insect that needs to be caught. For a piece of wire and a bit of cardboard, it is surprisingly durable. It will last for months of daily play. I thought a cat would quickly chew the cardboard to bits, but it seems to be remarkably tough. Eventually, the wire will lose some of its bounce or the cardboard bits will separate and slide up the string and it won’t seem alive anymore. But it’s cheap to replace, and can be bought in a 3-pack. I would be cautious about how you whip it around. You don’t NEED to thrash it about hard to get the cat’s attention, and the wire is stiff enough to sting the cat if you accidentally slap it with the wire. The motion of the curved wire is also a bit unpredictable, and I’ve hit both myself and the cat in the face with it a few times, and try to make sure I don’t hit either of us in the eye. And if the cat has it in its claws or mouth, don’t yank it, because it’s wire, not soft string or yarn. Experiment with different motions – little twists with the fingers, and holding the curve of the wire at different angles – to find what generates the realistic motions that your cat responds to. It’s hard to predict exactly how it’s going to move, but with a little practice you’ll learn how to produce different felitropic motions. This is a “chase and catch” toy, and if your cat likes to play at chewing or tearing at its “catch”, you’ll want to have another toy ready for that, as there’s not much to bite and it’s too small to grab with all fours. But the cat I use it with is happy to stalk off to the other side of the room and get ready for another running pounce. Really, if you know a cat that has lost interest in its toys, you really need to try this one

I’ve bought way too many toys for my cats. Out of all of them, these are their favorites. We play with the Cat Dancer daily. I’ve even tried other brands and they just aren’t the same. The weight of these is just right to give a good, random, bounce.

I adopted a new adult cat and bought all the expensive toys. Someone recommended these so I figured why not for the price. It’s the only toy my cat will play with! He loves it and ignores $100 worth of every other toy. It has lasted 4 weeks with rough play and seems like new. I’m now gifting these to all my cat parent friends.

Perfect for my Bengal kitten! She loves chewing on the cardboard! ( I know I could have made them, but who wants to do that?) * note for any bad reviews, the materials are listed, if you’re dumb enough not to see that it is a piece of wire with cardboard then you shouldn’t have a cat; Also, if you’re too lazy to play with your cat and need to have it hanging against a wall ( which seems a little dangerous to be fair ) then you shouldn’t have a cat either. Simple toy for energetic cats & people with brains!

My cat LOVES this toy. He will jump and twist and chase it when I am dangling it for him. And when I’m not playing with him, he will sit staring at me until I pick it up and start playing.

I have a 8 month old Egyptian Mau that will wear herself out playing with this. I’ll play with her until she’s exhausted and then she’ll keep playing by herself with this toy! I have to hide it at night from her! She goes through one about every week or two, I’ve bought 7 since finding out she loves these. Great price for such a great toy. May not last a long time but definitely worth it. No other cat toy makes my cat go this crazy
