I cant speak on durability or longevity especially since I dont use it often and she doesnt grab it etc. I will say its pretty and she enjoys looking at it. I personally love the chime sound that is produced when she moves in her rocker. It does not fall off or is too heavy and grips just fine. I do not believe it is long enough for a traditional crib but it fits everything else we have
