CEC Industries #3898 Bulbs, 12 V, 2.04 W, BA7s Base, T-2 Shape (Box of 10)

Looked all over for these bulbs and Amazon came through for me again! Awesome.

Just what needed for speedometer light in 1967 bug.

They work. There is no voltage or wattage written on the base, so keep them separated from your similar bulbs.

Didnt fit immediately into the push/twist socket. Finally realize that there is a solder lump right where the metal meets the glass that was keeping it from twisting. Filed it down and it fit. Something to keep in mind.

That the bulbs were the correct T shape design

They fit just like the ones that were in there before. Great product!

With the advent of the single wire alternators used in original VW, the dashboard lamp becomes an integral part of the charging system. No dashboard lamp showing on powering the car, no alternator charging. No lamp on a generator car, it still charges, but no warning light for fan belt failure! No lamp for the OIL light, boom! Lamps replace all the dashboard lamps in most classic VW 12 volt cars and buses. Certain exceptions exist

It seems there is a lack of quality control where these bulbs are manufactured. 9 out of the pack of 10 had what appeared to be large globs of solder at the top of the base. Compared side by side with an old Osram bulb, I also noticed that the top of the base is flared slightly on the CEC bulb, whereas the Osram base is not. This flare combined with the lump of solder kept the bulb from seating properly in my HVAC control knob without being modified first. Depending on your fitment, you may want to consider a different option. However, if you do decide to go with these, the nice thing is that theyre sold in a pack of 10, so if you mess one up, you have replacements.
