This is the first needle Ive used of this size. Its a bit awkward, but just because of the nature of the size. The blue end of this is silicon or something similar and very soft. The white piece is very smooth so the yard slides over it easily. The blue end did catch fibers from my yarn and after working with it a couple hours, some of the dye from the yarn has transferred to it.

I purchased all 7 of the larger amour crochet hooks (6.5mm-15mm) and LOVE them. They are great for using with chunky yarn or even helping loosen up a project if you have tight tension. I definitely think they are ergonomic. My hand never tires and I crochet for a few hours every day. I love the hook style as well because yarn glides smoothly on them and never snags.

I love this needle it has been amazing to work with. Has a soft handle which is great for comfort. I am using it to make a baby blanket.
