If you think all seam rippers are the same you need to order one of these. This thing is sharp and stays sharp. Wooden handle is a minor detail that is really much more comfortable compared to plastic. I know youre thinking a seam ripper is a seam ripper but give one of these a try. Its a really inexpensive add on item that is well worth the money.

After much study for a man buying a birthday present for his 75 year old wife, I bought this seam ripper. It came. I used it before she did, to clip out that nasty label in the back of my new polo shirt. But then, who knows, it got lost in the big often unused box of sewing stuff and I had another shirt to fix. So, Im more than happy to buy a second one and be more careful about where we store it, perhaps leave it in the packaging it came in -- bigger than the seam ripper and easy to store and find.

I have used this seam ripper four times already for making alterations to a leather jacket, repair to a pair of shoes (removing an annoying strap), adjustment to a leather bag and actual ripping out a seam in a blouse. The ripper blade is sharp and the handle is a lot nicer in my hands than the plastic ones I have. And sturdier. Having a good tool like this makes a big difference and also increases the chances of you making repairs.

I keep one of these in my sewing box, laundry room & bathroom to deal with multiple issues: ripping seams, removing tags, cleaning vacuum rollers (hair) and more. Like hard plastic cover on end (me no pokey self or anything in the same box). This is a very narrow pointy end so its MUCH better for removing tags than any other seam rippers I have bought. Highly recommend.

I used this for easily removing those sewn in tags on new clothes. The design of this is excellent for keeping a good grip while doing the detail work of pulling/cutting threads.

Great little ripper. Easy to hold. Eaay to insert tip under a stitch. Very happy with it.

Clover makes some great products. I really like this seam ripper because I have big hands and the handle makes it easy to hold onto. I have a Clover razor wheel I guess you call it for cutting leather that Id recommend as well. Cant beat Clover though, specially for the price.

The Man Response: Truth be told, one of the best seam rippers are your own fingers. Yes, if you just are a tad careful your fingers can open suit jacket pockets with ease. But hey, not everything is a suit jacket pocket and might require the precision and this seam ripper is well worth the money. Why not five stars? Well, if it wasnt for the fact that using my own fingers is FREE, Id give this five stars. Four stars is still pretty good.

A cap that wont break! Every other seam ripper cap gets shoved onto the bottom of the ripper, eventually the plastic breaks and you have to buy yet another seam ripper. That wont be the problem with this one (but there is the potential to lose the cap entirely). I like the length, and chose to make one improvement of my own: I found a pen grip that I slid over the top part of the handle. Now I have a non-slip grip thats terrific!
