This works great to find trailer wires by putting power to unknown wires.

I really wanted to like this because of the price. That low price comes at the cost of no voltmeter. Power and ground can be sent and it will pick them up but that is all. It is very inexpensive though. I wish I would have spent a little more and got one with a voltmeter.

On the add are quite a few similar units but have different specs. Not only color but longer leads as well. In hindsight I would have liked. A longer lead to get to battery. Not sending it back as freight cost are as much as unit is worth.

I purchased this as a replacement for one that I had for a while it worked great already paid for itself.

I want a good general purpose tester, and this one seems to WANT TO fit The bill that I don’t know until I get it how easy it is to use in bright light situations or be able to see the indicator like an old-fashioned incandescent bulb — the internal switch to provide 12 V or ground is a nice function for powering Devices in situ.
