I am a bassoonist and make my own reeds. The color (purple) is perfect, and the texture/width is perfect. It is a LOT so it is a great value. I just with the center cardboard holding it up were a little less rigid. I had to unwind a bunch and put it in a small container because it did not fit in the case I have for all my reed making. It does not compress or bend AT ALL. If thats what youre looking for (a sturdy spool core) then this item is a 100%. For my needs I gotta give it an A- or B.

I bought these on a sale so value for money is a bit skewed. The metallic thread snaps easily.

I have been making blue and yellow wash clothes to support Ukraine. Aunt Lydia’s is a solid brand. It is a little stiff at first but as you use it, the yarn will soft. The yarn will split easily but a little tug or here and it’s back in place. After I wash something I make with this yarn, the stitches tighten up, eliminating most holes. The blue is nice royal blue. I was able to make 7 wash clothes for the 2 different yarn balls. I don’t use this type of yarn for clothes or blankets. Works great for wash clothes, table runners, place mats, baby bibs. Highly recommend.
