> 3 dayI have always used DMC needles in the past for cross stitching. They come with the kits that I buy and I naively assumed that they must therefore be the best tools for the job. For the first time Ive been working on an 18-ct piece instead of 14 or 16 so the needle was smaller than Id used in the past. I recently lost it so needed to purchase a replacement as I had no spare in that size. After much searching, these gold John James needles seemed okay, but I was very worried that theyd be too sharp, as the one Id been using was more blunt at the tip. Now that I am using one of these needles, it has sped up my stitching to a crazy degree. I am SO HAPPY I lost my DMC needle and bought these as a replacement. The needles are indeed sharper, but instead of being a nuisance, it helps bring the needle up cleanly in tight spots without messing up previous stitches. Also my thread twists A LOT less than it used to, also a time saver. It takes me more time to thread these needles as the eye is smaller (so I might buy a needle threader), but overall its still a time saving. So far Ive not had any problems with the needles bending.

> 3 dayI have used these needles for 40+ years. I prefer the gold ones. They work thru fabric smoothly

> 3 dayThese are good quality needles that I used for cross stitching. They did bend while using but I havent found a needle that i havent bent yet. They did tarnish after using for awhile, but I havent found gold plated ones that havent yet.

Greater than one weekThey worked really well for 18 count cross stitch, sliding easily through the fabric. But the first one broke after three hours of use, the next one after 20 hours. I wont buy them again. Too expensive for what you get out of it.
