This is a quality and durable tool. The ruler slides out smoothly and recoils well. The lock stays engaged when depressed. It looks like it will last a long time. My only complaint is that every measuring tape I have owned prior had two scales on the ruler (inches on top and centimeters along the bottom). I often work in metric, so not having this option makes the ruler less useful for me. I didnt think it was clear from the picture/description that it only has inches. Maybe for most people this is a non-issue, but for those who like to work in the metric system, I thought Id post this.

Identical to the tape measure I used for 50 years until I inadvertently left it out in the rain.

Not a bad price for what seems sturdy and some nice design features. I take issue with the of length of the body, its heft and maybe 4ft standout before it bends and/or twists. Probably fine for most casual and short distance measurements.

My husband uses it for everything

This tape measure really measures up to its ability. Not only will you be able to know how wide something is but you will also know how long. In a world of size matters this tape measure cuts to the chase.
