Initially disappointed. The device itself is really small and cute. I have Netflix set up, but I can not actually get a movie to play. The only option is the remote, and I was selecting every button multiple. Playing a movie should be OBVIOUS. First off, I am fairly tech savvy. I actually work in edtech, and I enjoy messing around with devices. But I also have a busy life and I dont have time to waste on mediocre interfaces. Maybe it had something to do with me trying to find a movie for my daughter and ending up on TV shows that kept trying to get me to select seasons. I dont know and I dont really care because I expect this kind of thing to be fairly straightforward. I have had no trouble using the FireStick for instance and there is an option to use that here. I also selected mirroring and I could not get that to work. I also selected Bluetooth and it was unclear what was called what. And yes, I have done mirroring and bluetooth connections on many devices without trouble. Im not saying these dont work, but its not a fast set-up for me using newer Mac devices. Software is slowly updating after I did the classic restart. We will see. If you have time to waste on getting things set up and dont mind fiddling around with a substandard remote that is your only way of controlling the device, then this projector, whose speakers I am unable to hear because I cant yet get anything to play, has potential. But if you want to get something quickly setup I highly recommend you look elsewhere. UPDATE: This portable projector stopped updating when I moved it. Only options at 63% finished were to retry or cancel. Tried the Fire Stick. Did not work. It’s claiming insufficient USB power (hmmm… I am using your USB since you are a portable device). After it finished optimizing it went through the same routine of saying there is insufficient USB power and it needs 10 minutes (again) to optimize. And again. I updated software. No change. Tried Netflix again. Yeah, there is no way to access the play button with the remote. I can’t play Netflix. I spent 1.5 hours with this thing gearing up for a special weekend with my daughter and could not get it to play anything. Glad I had the foresight to try this BEFORE she arrived. Happy to save $200 and return this. It makes me realize I don’t need this to create a special movie night with her. I will move my 4K monitor into the bedroom thank you.

Just by going with the price you cant be wrong. I bough an Epson XVGA projector before for much more money and the image quality is way inferior to the image provided by this Crenova LCD projector. I started testing the device with a movie for my kids and they immediately switched seats to enjoy a 105 screen. The audio coming from the projector will let you hear the movie but do not expect to get any bass out of it or symphonic orchestra. The audio output however will allow to connect a good external speaker and enjoy in a much different way. The remote control is good to navigate every function, the IR sensor is located at the back or the projector which is inconvenient but manageable. Long story short, if you need a projector to share video, photos and/or a good movie with family and friends go ahead and buy this projector. Just like with every other projector you will need a projection screen to obtain the best definition and bright, obviously you need to have the room in low light to be able to enjoy it properly, any other review saying that you can have all the lights and curtains open and still be blinded by the image are going to be a big fat lie. On the other side, the projector is not as loud as the Epson with the UHE lamp vent, hence the amount of heat dissipated is not as noticeable, the On Off is instant with no cooling time involved. Be advised that this projector wont impress your power point presentation at work (as it is not intended for that), close captions and titles are visible but do not expect Arial font size 8 to be readable and same for graphs and Excel spreadsheets.

I previously purchased the Crenova XPE760, as it was one of the lowest price native-1080p projectors on Amazon. I gave that projector to my son to take to college, and I bought this new model XPE600 (which I believe is considered to be the 2021 upgrade of the XPE760). Like the XPE760, the XPE600 projects in full 1920x1080p (which is awesome at this price point), and it has been substantially improved in several ways: * It is slightly brighter * It now supports decoding of Dolby audio * It has a simulated surround sound that I found to substantially improve audio quality and loudness. * The protective lens cap can now be attached without having to retract the lens into the body of the projector using the focus ring. (It now fits onto the lens itself instead of snapping onto the enclosure) * The controls on the projector have been upgraded to capacitive touch controls instead of physical buttons. The real benefit of this is that they are backlit, so you can easily see and change the controls in a dark room. * It has 2 HDMI inputs compared to 1 on the XPE760. * The remote control has been simplified Like the XPE760, I am rating the XPE600 as 5 stars, and I am doing so in the context of its price/performance value. (You would have to spend double or triple on a name brand to get better performance and features.) That said, there are a few considerations worth mentioning (I wouldn’t necessarily call these “cons”): * The “throw” of the XPE600 at a given distance is smaller than the XPE760 (I.E., you have to place the projector further back in the room to have the picture fill the same space.) * When looking at computer text displayed in native 1920x1080, I will say the edge-to-edge focus is not as perfectly sharp as a much more expensive name-brand projector would be, so it not would be as ideal (but still viable) to use for displaying fine text from a computer. It still looks fantastic for watching movies. I have been using this to stream movies through my Windows PC and Chromecast, both connected via HDMI, with no problems and with excellent picture quality and brightness. I highly recommend this incredible value.

1080p hd video processing, for a large screen up to 120 in, this is bordering on the edge of not really the quality that you would expect from a large image. Not particularly bad per se, just you dont get a full HD effect when you blow up a picture to that ratio. you really need something that would be 4K to have a really nice stunning picture. Hear me out! This projector does actually a very good job for the money! You need to have a very good video signal, the higher the better. If you can find actual 4K material to view with this projector you will probably be pleased, especially if you have not used a projector before. But you cannot compare it to a HDTV screen. If thats what youre used to watching you might not be happy with this picture quality. Also, size wise its a little finicky trying to place the projector in the correct distance / angle so as to get your keystone correct. Smaller the picture size that you are going for the better the quality is going to be on your screen. I was using 120 in screen and placed the projector as close as I could to get the pixels as small as I could( approximately 12 ft and throw distance from the screen). I was not disappointed, as Im using it primarily to play animated and family movies for kids. Its very bright for the cost, but unlike a lot of the reviews stated, you really cant watch it happily in a fully lit room, it should be in a fairly dim room at least. Is it a great deal for the money? Absolutely!

Let me start by saying I havent had a chance to set it up outside on a better background but I wanted to check out the quality. So excuse the blinds.. Ill also say the photo doesnt do it justice. The clarity is much better than the photo is showing. Picture size for test was 130. Picture Quality: The picture quality is amazing. It has a focus with a wide range of focusing. We own another projector that we paid a little bit more money for and this 1 has a much crisper picture even at larger sizes. Audio: The audio is surprisingly good as well. Its louder than our other projector. It gets loud enough for the family to sit around and watch a movie. However I recommend getting a real audio device for your audio because if you turn it up too loud you can hear the audio spikes with a fuzz or distortion. However we had no problems at lower volumes and could hear it just find. Brightness: Its very bright when its dark. We turned on the lights to see if it was bright enough to handle a few lights on in the house and it was still bright enough to watch. Overall for the price, video, audio and quality this projector is a GREAT projector. I highly recommend this projector!

This is my second CRENOVA projector and I absolutely love this brand. CRENOVA makes really good projectors that have great picture quality. This specific projector has a very bright and clear picture with true to life colors. I love many of the newer features such as the new touch panel on this projector. The projector is also very good for playing video games on. I do not notice any delays when playing xbox or nintendo switch on this projector. We enjoy many movie nights on our 85 inch projected screen as you can see in the attached pictures. One nice plus is the bottom of the projector includes a pop out stand that elevates the front of the projector and includes a keystone correction to adjust for angles when projecting on an angle. I am really happy with this and glad I purchased it. I also really like the sleek new squared body of this projector, very nice. Few Negatives: 1- If you are mounting this on a ceiling the IR remote only reads from behind the projector where my older CRENOVA read from both front and back, ceiling mounted are generally behind you so it makes it a bit hard to read the included remote. 2- the Touch Panel stays lit so if you ceiling mount this you will have light above your head when watching in a dark room and I did not like that I could not turn it off 3- The keystone correction is manual and the older model as digital so it allowed for very precise adjustments where manual is more difficult to adjust very finely. 4- This is very minor but the lens on this model is on the left side of the projector and the older was on the right so I had to move my ceiling mount if I wanted it to project in the exact same spot.

I have been using an Optima HD66 for about 8 years now and decided to test the new Crenova XPE600 projector. Installation to my existing home entertainment ceiling mount went fairly smooth. I only had to go to the hardware store for M4x40 screws. The instructions clearly stated that the screw holes were M4 in size. I was also able to easily balance the Crenova with my ceiling mount. Something that was VERY hard do to with my older Optima drive without using some sort of counter weight. The keystone and focusing are done with large manual rotating dials. The dials made this configuration easy. The Crenova powers on, off, and syncs very quickly with my home entertainment system and iPhone. Other projectors Ive used take 45 seconds to 3 minutes to sync with the HDMI source. Another thing I am use to with other projectors is that they all come with carrying bags. This Crenova did not. If you plan to transport this projector around with you to meetings, you need to keep the box in good shape. Note: The box does come with a handle. I brought up both projectors side-by-side. Both the Crenova and my Optima have a resolution of 1920x1080. The resolution on the Crenova beats the Optima hands down. Hope you can see the difference in the picture with the turkey. The Optima is on the left and the Crenova is on the right. The colors from the Corona are way more bright and stand out. (Blacks are way more dark, and Ill get that in the next paragraph.) I dont know if colors are due to the quality of the projectors or due to the bulbs. My Optimas bulb is pretty new roughly 300 hours. Of course, the Crenovas bulb is brand new at less than an hour when the flag picture was taken. As I mentioned above, blacks are way more dark. They are actually too dark for me. I worked for a long time trying to get a reasonable balance to the 3 pictures below. The Crenova doesnt have as many brightness/contrast/color settings as my older Optima. I had to settle with a User setting where by TCs face is too dark on the side and Higgins face is too red. Of course, night scenes are REALLY dark and daytime scenes are bright to me. Note: I do have a grey screen instead of a white screen; that may make a difference. This is the first projector where Ive seen the IR port for the remote is on the back of the projector. Im use to pointing the remote at the screen, bouncing the IR off the screen back to the front of the projector to turn on. I also tried to bounce the IR off the back wall of my room to the projector. I suspect the remote just doesnt come with a powerful enough LED. I instead have to physically position myself behind the projector to turn it on/off. This is a minor annoyance but there is no string on the cap. I had to climb down off my ladder 3 times to retrieve a dropped lens cap. Ha! The Crenova comes with a built-in speaker and with USB ports. I did not test these as they are not applicable to my setup. I wish I had a little more control of the display color settings but for a projector under $200, it does the job well. After Review Note: Crenova support contacted me about my lamp control issues. They provided a detailed video about adjusting the lamp settings. They also made other surprising offers to me too but Ill leave it at good support after the purchase. Thus, I increased my rating of their product. Thank you!

This projector has a few modes that can be adjusted: Picture Mode: has 4 options, Standard; Soft; User and Vivid. I couldn’t tell much of a difference between Standard and Soft Modes. However, Vivid was significantly different from Standard and Soft. The User Mode allows you the ability to individually adjust brightness, contrast, color, and sharpness. Projector Mode: Front; Rear; Front Ceiling and Rear Ceiling Pros: 1080p resolution; wonderful Dolby Sound supporting both Audio and Video; very quiet; Lighted control panel on the Projector; HDMI ; AV and Audio Cables supplied with a cleaning cloth. Cons: The Projector’s size could be smaller or condensed. IR on the front of the Projector would be great. And batteries to operate the hand remote would be nice too. Overall, I’ve ran this projector through it’s paces all except the use of a few Android products and this projector worked well especially for the price. The sound was so loud you could hear it throughout my entire house without the volume being turned up loud. So, I couldn’t max using the Audio cable for fear of causing some hearing issues. This is an awesome projector at a wonderful price. Having great sound is very important in a Projector labeled “Outdoor “ and this one has Dolby, you pay more for a projector that has Dolby. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up and have my first outdoor event.

This is the 2nd Crenova projector that I have purchased. The first one (a Crenova Mini Projector) I bought about a year ago and have used quite a bit. It has been on trips with us and been moved around the house and outside for movies. This projector was an upgrade and we still plan to continue using the mini, especially with the kids. The projector is about four times larger then the mini. The sound has more depth and gets louder, the picture is clear, and the brightness is exceptional. Text is sharper than the mini, and I think with a screen, this would be high quality enough for presentations. On the wall there are places that are slightly out of focus, but this is barely noticeable when watching a movie for us. What impressed me the most about the projector is the brightness; It can be light outside with the shades open and the picture is still visible. You can see this in one of my review pictures. This was not the case for the mini--even Christmas lights would make the image dull and blackout curtains were a must, even at night. This is a huge plus for a projector, since this is the biggest limitation when considering a projector in place of a TV. We do not have a TV, so it will be great to have the option of using this during the day with the curtains drawn, which was not an option for the mini. I think both this projector and the mini have their place. This projector is perfect for people who want a great home theater experience for themselves and their guests without spending a fortune. This projector has lots of features that make it ideal for that setting, including mounting screws for a ceiling mount, the ability to zoom in and out, and the ability to flip the picture. The mini is a better fit for families who just want something to project a movie outside a few times a year, take on vacation to play a movie on the wall of an Air B and B, or place in a playroom for kids to play video games or watch YouTube. The mini is much more portable and affordable, although you are sacrificing quality. It also works better on a surface like an end table. This projector is really meant to be permanently mounted, and the screw at the bottom doesnt allow for much adjustment if it is placed on a flat surface. Overall, this is a great upgrade from the mini and a perfect replacement for a TV or in a home theater.

We previously had a mini-projector for outdoor movies in our backyard and really enjoyed it. We upgraded to this projector and couldnt be happier. PROS - Brightness - A lot brighter than the mini-projector. We can now start movies at dusk or earlier instead of it being pitch black out. - Speaker - Internal speaker is a million times better. On the min-projector we always had to hook up an external speaker. Now we no longer need to. The internal speaker allows us to watch the movie without extra equipment and is plenty loud for family movies. - Picture Quality - The detail and picture quality (crispness) is better by quite a bit compared to the mini-projector as well. - 2 HDMI ports - Customer support - Customer support has been fantastic, we had an issue when we first received ti and customer support helped us thru the issue without delay. - Illuminated touch screen helps control items in the dark without the use of the remote if required. Thing to think about - We needed to put the projector further back from screen than the mini-projector. Not a big deal just took a little more setup time the first time using it since we were so used to the mini-projector setup. - It is larger and more cumbersome if moving around a lot. Packaging was great and we currently use the original packaging to hold the projector when not in use.
