Couldnt be happier. Amazon has this lower than other retail and even at Crucial.com Shipping was fast. First image is for 3rd Generation Western digital 1 TB PCIE NVME SSD that came with my HP Envy desktop. Luckily there is a place for another PCIE NVME SSD where I put this Crucial 4th generation PCIE NVME SSD stick. After that cloned WD NVME to Crucial to boot my Window 11 directly from Crucial. 5058 is Crucial and 2461 is Western Digital. Read and Write is performing as advertised. It came with a screw to fasten to the motherboard. Very easy to install. After installing, Windows 11 may not recognize it. So go to BIOS whether BIOS is detecting or not? After that use Disk management to enable this PCIE NVME SSD. If you want to switch the boot order go once again to BIOS and make the changes. Very happy with the purchase.

M.2 price revolution is great. 4tb for $200 cant beat it. Why it didnt get 5 stars. The directions wasnt complete and I had to research how to make my computer recognize the drive. Its a simple mapping of the drive but the instructions said nothing about it.

I’ve been running a regular PCIe Gen3 NVME SSD 2TB in my MacBook Pro for about 4 years now. Wasn’t sure if this PCIe Gen4 would work or not. Worked just fine with the current adapter I was using on the motherboard. The only way to make the OS installer recognize the drive is to make a bootable USB with your OS of choice. You cannot do it through recovery mode or try to restore the image onto the new SSD. Read/Write was at 1,300/1,400. Not horrible but I don’t do anything extreme with this thing. Just wanted more storage as I ran out of my 2TB. While I was in there I replaced my battery and also cleaned out my fan and heat sink and also re-pasted my CPU with better thermal paste because MacBook’s are known to have horrible thermal paste applications from the factory. Just that alone lowered my temps by almost 10 degrees Celsius. Overall, I’m really happy I got this to work. You can either make a bootable USB with DiskMaker Pro or use Apple’s terminal method which is what I used since DiskMaker Pro is very finicky. Just search for it and there will be clear instruction on Apple’s own website.

I got this for my boot drive on my new build with a Ryzen 7700 and a 7900XT and it has been great. I also got a Samsung 980 Pro for my gaming drive and honestly with the two it has been awesome. Waaaay better than my older SSD drive.
