This is a good general purpose hole saw. I ordered this for one reason, making a cornhole set. The backing plate for the cutter is made from 3/16” steel plate. It is definitely heavy. The cutting edge is welded on the back plate and is made well. The teeth should hold up for a while. There probably should be some more relief cut outs in the sides to reduce heat build up. It won’t be an issue for me cutting through 1/2” or less thick plywood though. The part I like most is the mandrel. It screws into the back of the saw blade like all others. Unlike all the madrels I have used the drive pins are inserted into the blade by rotating a knob on the mandrel which plunges the pins into the blade. This is much easier than what I have and have been used to. My old mandrels would be inserted through the blade and then used a locking nut to hold everything together. This mandrel fits all my other brand hole saws no problem. I figured this would have some odd Chinese threads that wouldn’t work with other brand hole saws, but it does. This is a pretty good set for the price.

This 6 inch hole saw set is heavy and made of much thicker steel than most. The tooth design allows for a nice cut in plywood and drywall, but creates a good amount of dust. The blade could use additional venting to reduce heat and allow for dust to clear, but so far it hasnt been an issue. The mandrel is a really nice design and takes only a couple of seconds to install - all without tools! To install it you just screw the bottom portion of the mandrel into the top of the blade until it contacts the blade. Then you back it off a tiny bit to line up the holes and then screw in the top part of the mandrel. This will cause the locking pins to pass through the mandrel and blade to keep them from turning individually. This top screw-down also acts as the lock nut in this mandrel which is truly a great design. Im not sure why anyone has had an issue putting it together, but I found it to be really easy, and super quick. I really appreciate not having to use any tools to attach it. Theres even extra centering bits included! I gave the saw 4 starts because its rather heavy and can cause fatigue in the user after a handful of overhead holes. Also, I wish the kirf was a little thinner. (The thickness of the blade itself)

Used this to I stall the bypass line for my whole house humidifier. The coarse teeth werent the best choice against metal, even though this is labeled as bi metal One of the teeth arrived chipped. No biggie. This thing is HEAVY. 2.23 lbs. The saw blade is probably 12 or 14ga and the base plate is probably 1/4. Installation is easy and it includes some spare drill bits.

I cut a 6 inch hole in the side of a shipping container with it. It wore it down some but it is likely good for another hole in that kind of metal. I used transmission fluid yo lube the cut. It is heavy but that is probably what let it survive the tough cut.

This is a heavy hole saw and we were just using for drywall for lights. A very nice saw but I do wish it had more venting holes for visual into where hole is going and dust/heat extraction. Works great. It is thicker than most saws so will create more dust.

This hole saw really cuts through plastics, fiberboard and pretty much anything other than stainless steel that you need a 6 hole cut through. The drill bit is a bit thick so you need a real drill to use this saw. This saw is heavy and very sharp. You need to make sure its secure because it cuts very fast through everything like a hot knife in butter! The cuts I made were not jagged on thin plastic because the saw blades teeth are super sharp. I have been using this and confirm it is made of high-quality steel and works perfectly. The pilot/guide drill bit is 100% in the center of this circular hole saw. This saw will help you cut precisely every time. Glad to have added this 6 hole saw to my home improvement tools! This is great for cutting holes to install recessed lighting and flush mount speakers!

This 6” hole saw is a heavy duty. It has a lot of weight to it and is made of thick steel. The teeth are very sharp and after a few cuts in 2” thick wood, they have not dulled out nor have I seen any broken teeth. Highly recommend if you need a hole saw for larger holes.
