Have used these filters for years and they do the job

Water purification

Great product at a good price. Ordering through this vendor/Amazon is much easier than driving 30 miles to the hardware store (and sometimes finding they are out of stock...).

I was accustomed to a life span of 6 months plus for 5 micron string wound filters (RS5-SS). These 10 micron Culligan CW-F clogged up within 3 weeks with rust, etc. (The soluble iron is not noticeable in the water, but it certainly accumulates on the filter as the red-brown form.) I do not think the city water supply has changed much, so I will not be buying these filters again.
