CURT 49120 2-Inch x 12-Inch Weld-On Raw Steel Trailer Hitch Receiver Tube

Someone hit my hitch and damaged it. A replacement was unavailable, no longer made. So I had to repair the one I had. I took it to a professional welder for the repair.

Ordered two 12 weld on receivers at the same time for custom mount on motorhome. Received one receiver with weld on outer lip as was in the picture and the other was machine flair. They need to match otherwise they look like hell with one flared and one welded. I still had to pay for return shipping even though they were not alike. Tried to call Curt and never did get through. Gave up after 25 min on hold! Do not buy Curt or they will switch parts and you have to pay return like I did. Bought local after sending these back. Never again!!! Save yourself a headache!

We got two of these welded to our RV to pull a Swivel Wheel Trailer. Great quality.

The receiver tube is manufactured of heavy metal. It should last for many moons. Im going to have it mounted in the front of a flatbed trailer, to skid logs with.

The end is heated and formed to create the re-enforcement. The other curt receiver (longer) I got in the same order, and a cheaper model I got elsewhere both used weld on rings. This formed end doesnt seem as sturdy or as well designed. Im not towing with it so its fine for what Ill be doing with it. Its not defective, just not as good a product as I was expecting.

Wow. I thought its just some steel... so I looked at Harbor Freights tubes. Terrible. Big seams on the inside, some seams on the wrong side, sloppy lip on the business end of the receiver, etc. Put it right back on the shelf, walked out the door, and ordered a Curt. Well, actually two, but thats another story. More money, but Im so glad I did. What a difference in quality. Now I need to get to work...

The Receiver Tube is for my 4WD. It is top quality so I purchased another one to put on the front of the vehicle to push my trailer up a challenging steep drive - Gives me lots more control. Make sure you order the correct length, 12 Inch suited me
