> 3 dayIt does just what it says and all in a nice compact format. I dont know how other manufacturers get away with charging many times the price of the Decimator to do the same thing, but this little box seems to have the most bang for the buck. I really like the ability to change settings via the OSX app, too.

> 3 dayI purchased this from Kellards through Amazon and have had an awful experience. The device does not work. Out of deference I took it to three separate gigs and had multiple engineers who have often used Decimators try to get the device to recognize a signal, but it didnt work. When I went to exchange the device I was past the 30 day return window and Kellards refused to accept it. Thats their policy, and they are clear about it...but you should be aware of it before you buy from them--if you dont return something immediately even if it is defective they will not stand by their products. There are a million places out there that will stand by their products and would never let a faulty product be sold under their name--buy from them. BEWARE KELLARDS.

> 3 dayDoes the SDI and HDMI conversions I need, I have this one to back up my MD-Cross V2, Honestly it does everything I need the MD cross to do for $100 less. I use it to hold the signal to a switcher active so presenters can plug and unplug their laptops without affecting the switcher.

> 3 dayI am using this Decimator MD-HX to feed an Apple TV Gen 4 into a Blackmagic Design Atem 1 m/e 4K at 1080i/59.94 and it works like a champ. I now have a wireless audio/video feed for speaker/presenters in a live environment that use Apple products. The Apple TV is connected via the HDMI input, then through the built-in scaler, where the signal is converted from 1080p/60 to 1080i/59.94, the HDMI output goes to a small TV for local monitoring, and the SDI output feeds an Atem SDI input. I am also using the unused SDI input to feed the second set of SDI outputs to feed two projectors. This is a very handy device!

> 3 dayFirst, the Decimator does exact;y what it is supposed to do. Lets make that clear. Where it falls down is that its difficult at best to navigate the menus, and setup via the free app on their website is WAY easier. Its still not super clear, but its is obvious.

> 3 dayThis is the coolest thing ever! Much better build, quality, versatility, and functionality than Blackmagic products. First, the digital display makes it super easy to set up. It’s sturdy, made well, and comes with everything you need...even a mounting bracket! It’s not made in Germany, but you would think it was! The instructions could be worded a bit better but they are very helpful if you have a good understanding of what you’re trying to accomplish. The dual inputs also eliminated the need for a switch box if you happen to have two sources you want to occasionally switch between. The only things I could possibly ask for is the ability to adjust the output IRE to 7.5, and to assign different scaler settings for the two outputs, but that’s not a huge deal for what it already does at this price point.

Greater than one weekThis is a great little signal converter that works flawlessly once it is set up properly. The instructions and the UI are both poor. If you want to convert a signal, you need to set the converter, then you need to APPLY the conversion to the input and make a couple of other non-obvious setting changes. I had to watch a YouTube video to figure out how this thing works. Now I have 3 of them. With better programming, these could be much better.

> 3 dayWorks like a swiss army knife for SDI and HDMI signals. Successfully using this to scale and convert iMac 1080i60 video output for use with Blackmagic Design ATEM 2 M/E Production Studio 4K at 1080i59.94. The menus are logical. I was able to configure the device without looking at the instructions. Detects and displays input format and frame rate along with selected output format. Requires some knowledge of video formats and scaling to properly configure for a particular use. If you are looking at this device you probably have that knowledge.
