Not a licensed pro but I have replaced over 50 touch screen for tablets / iPads and cell phones for friends and friends of theirs. For the average consumer it is not hard. Use a hair dryer (if you do not have heat gun), business cards or playing cards, and watch screwdriver kit. **wear eye protection and gloves** Only warning I have is the home button finger print ID, will not work without the original finger print ID component on the home button cable. To fix the problem you will have to use tools for component replacement (Flux, soldering iron, solder, and microscope). Move the finger print ID component from the old home button cable to the new replacement screen. “Or”… If the old power button / cable are in great working condition, you can transfer them to the new replacement touch screen. You will need exacto knife and very strong glue.

After replacing many screens, this is the best one I have purchased by far. The adhesive is exceptional. Both sides of the replacement screen are covered with a removable film which means less cleaning of prints before adhering. I don’t use the ID fingerprint so that isn’t an issue for me. If it is something you need just recycle the one you have onto this screen. Finally I purchased the right screen for the job, it has everything needed for a successful replacement, including the tools. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

You get what you pay for… Screen adhesion did not stick and left a HUGE gap between the housing and the touch screen which allowed tons of particles in. I would not purchase again.

My daughter shattered her iPad screen and at the prices to replace or have repaired, it was totally worth the $20 gamble. Thanks to this product and YouTube i was able to replace the glass, but not without some struggles. trying to get the original glass off was the longest part of this venture - installing this glass is the EASY part. it took me over 2 hours, but some advice for anyone buying this - make sure you have a heat gun not a hairdryer, and go over it edge of the glass several times and then again, maybe wear heat resistant gloves? I didn’t but i was a short order cook for 6 years. The glass came with everything i needed however i did need a little bit more help and used expired gift cards to help lift the glass, the guitar pick it came with i partially melted. Another tip Tape the iPad to the counter and tape the shattered glass area as well to avoid getting pieces all over the place. Also be mindful of the home button and the camera, i didn’t align it perfectly so the camera has a shadow, But seriously at the prices to fix it or replace it - This is THE way to go. Now let’s see how long it lasts…. Will update if it doesn’t survive (short of it shattering again which happens with most glass)

Ive performed a few screen replacements on other devices but this was my first attempt on an ipad. My first go-round, the touchscreen wouldnt work. Initially I figured it was a faulty digitizer, but decided to give it another go. The second time round worked perfectly! Now, I did end up removing the home button and reusing the original, thus its not really staying in place as it should. I suspect if Id left the included button in place it would have been much more stable.
