Dell Original 65W Thin Laptop Charger for Inspiron 15 Series Power-Supply-Cord (Original Version)

My 4 year old Dell Inspirion was falling apart. The battery needed replacing, and the cord for the AC adapter that came with the computer frayed where it entered the computer. I soldered the wires back together, and limped along for a while. Finally, I bought and installed a replacement battery, and bought a generic replacement adapter. The computer operated slowly, when it worked at all. The battery never really charged, and I kept getting an error message saying the adapter wasnt recognized, etc., etc., which popped up on the screen every few minutes. It was a waste of $18. Finally, I bought this higher watt actual Dell adapter for only $27, and now the old computer is back in business. It was worth getting a Dell original version adapter, though Im glad a found a seller who charged less that Dell itself would have charged. Im very glad I made this purchase. The adapter was delivered the next day, and, so far, works great!

My original cord got bent where it inserts into the laptop, causing bad contact and intermittent charging. I got tired of trying to wiggle it and to hold the plug-in just right but it was frustrating. I bit the bullet and ordered the first one (Amazons Choice) at $29.95 which was the highest priced (of course!!) of all of the Dell cords offered... then I paid almost as much to have it overnighted to me. However, now I can type on my Inspiron with BOTH hands. If I ever need/want another one (=i.e., to carry a spare in my shoulder bag instead of unplugging this one all the time that I travel), Ill be a tad more patient and buy one (here) at a better price. But so far (2 weeks) so good. And now that I know that a 90-degree plug is an option, Ill ask for one. Live and learn... and $ave. . UPDATE 3 months later (June 9, 2019): The 65-Watt power cord has been working flawlessly, plug is tight, battery stays charged, no jiggling of wires. I bought a second one today, but their version of the word Dell is just block letters, whereas the first (3/19) had that sideways E that has always been in Dells iconic logo, so I wonder whats up; its still made by the same Chinese company, very slight differences in typeface, type placement, and some language/nomenclature changed between the 2 items. I had also bought a non-Dell-branded replacement, but I will relegate it to being a backup to my second OEM (hopefully legit) power cord.

So excited this worked for my lap top! I didnt even match the series number and got lucky! Havent been able to uze my laptop in months bc the charger stoped working, I figured Id have to pay a fortune for a new one but now Im back up and running and for damn good price if you ask me! Yessss!

EDIT: I bought this product again and the charger I received the second time works fine. I think I was given the wrong item the first time. ----------------------- Original Review: This charger is not good. My laptop is listed under the compatible devices, however the charger does not fit as well as my previous charger. Also, the charger does not plug directly into the laptop; instead it came with an adapter for a larger port resulting in a loose fit. I have had to plug it in and out several times for it to begin charging since I received the charger, and now just a month later it barely works. The computer and cord have to be positioned perfectly and not be moved. Even when it is charging, the battery level will not increase while in use.
