Lécran me sert de hub pour mon mac, il apporte le courant et permet de brancher des USB 2 ou 3 statiques (clavier, carte son, disque dur externe...). Bonne luminosité et couleurs. Rapport qualité prix juste OK.

Je recherchais un écran compatible USB-C dédié principalement au travail bureautique mais qui puisse aussi servir pour de la retouche photo. Et tout ça sans que ça ne me coute un bras. Je convoitais un écran de la série Asus ProArt, à priori nettement supérieur, mais aussi nettement plus cher. Définitivement hors budget, je me suis tourné vers cet écran DELL P2419HC sur avis des Numériques et dArnaud Frich. Cet écran est correct et déjà bien supérieur à plein dautres ! Il présente malheureusement les défauts couramment observés sur ce genre de dalle IPS entrée de gamme (IPS glow et quelques fuites de lumières visibles sur écran noir dans lobscurité) mais ils ne sont pas visibles en utilisation normale, dans une pièce moyennement éclairée. Je nai fait encore ni mesure, ni calibrage mais à lœil, les couleurs sont vraiment belles. Le rendu est à priori assez fidèle et lhomogénéité bonne. Langle de vision est suffisamment étendu pour pouvoir travailler à deux dans de bonne condition (mais au delà de 90°/90°, les reflets apparaissent et ça devient désagréable). La luminosité de 250 cd/m2 est faible sur le papier mais en pratique, cest très largement suffisant dans mon cas (pas de lumière directe sur lécran et fenêtre sur le côté, exposition sud-ouest). Cest même souvent trop et je nai encore jamais dépassé les 65 % de luminosité. Niveau connectique, on a le choix. DP, HDMI et surtout USB-C 65 W pour limiter le nombre de câbles. Lécran fait aussi office de hub USB avec 2 prises très pratiques accessibles sur le coté gauche. Enfin, coté ergonomie, cest parfait. Grande plage de réglage, hauteur maximale depuis le bureau : 49 cm. Cest suffisant pour ma morphologie et il ne mest pas nécessaire de le surélever. Globalement je mattendais à mieux au vu des tests et commentaires. Cest pas parfait mais ça coute 215 € et cest déjà vraiment pas mal. EDIT: ajout des résultats de test et calibrage. Bilan : les couleurs sont assez fidèles avec un deltaE moyen de 0,6 après calibrage. Il y a juste un patch bleu sombre vraiment dans les choux. Le niveau de contraste est bon et atteint presque 1300:1 à 135 cd/m2. Seul point faible : la luminance et les couleurs ne sont pas homogènes sur lensemble de la dalle sous lœil averti de la sonde.

I have enjoyed using Dell Monitors since 1997 and have always been impressed by their build quality and value for money. I am pleased to say that this monitor is no exception. Compared with my previous Dell monitors, this model as a tiny bezel, which was ideal as I purchased a pair of matching monitors for my desktop. It took a couple of minutes to assemble to stand, which did not need a screwdriver as there is a key-mechanism in the stand which allows it to be turned easily without the need for tools. The stands themselves are really smart. Ideally, a pair of monitors should be mounted on a special dual monitor stand. However, these stands have a small footprint and are quite flat so take up very little desk space. I have also found that it is quite useful to move a monitor to another part of the house from time to time. I connected each monitor to my 2017 MacBook Pro using the supplied USB C cable. It worked straight away. The only set up required was to select the “Always On” function that would ensure that I could charge my MacBook even if the monitor was switched off. To drive two displays, I have connected USB C cables from each monitor, adjusted the Display Arrangement and left the monitors set to their Default settings. It is a pleasure to work using both monitors as an extension to my desktop. Although the monitors do not have the same pixel density as my MacBook Pro screen, they are perfect for reading text in Word documents, spreadsheets and websites. The monitors are just the right height to be easily seen above my 15” MacBook screen. I also found that I could watch Netflix whilst the MacBook Pro was connected to the monitors. This was never possible with my old Dell U2412M monitors as I would always get a DHCP-incompatible error and the screen would go blank unless I unplugged the external displays. These monitors are good value for money. I am pleased that I paid a little more to get the USB-C model as this now frees up my original Apple USB-C charger so I can keep it in my laptop bag, for use on my travels. The cost of a spare USB-C charger more than makes up for the slight difference in price.

I bought two of these to use with my new work laptop and my gaming tower. They look great and are incredibly good quality. The laptop plugs in using the USB-C connection on one monitor and is daisy chained to the second with a display port cable. The USB-C does charge the laptop as well as connect. You can also plug your peripherals into the monitor to make it a proper laptop hub. The gaming tower is connected to the first monitor with a display port and again, uses the same display port daisy chain for the second. Switching between inputs is easy with physical buttons at the bottom right of the monitor allowing you to scroll up or down on a menu to switch. There is only one USB up connector which is the USB-C. Therefore you cant use the USB ports on the monitor without this plugged in. A second up port would have been brilliant. Im having to use a separate switch for the keyboard and mouse because of this. As for gaming, this is okay but not amazing. The picture is crisp but it has a 75hz refresh rate so expect motion blur. Fortunately Im a city builder fan so not an issue. All in all, I bought these for the connectivity of USB-C and not having to lug a laptop charger to and from the office. For that it was fine but a tad expensive.

Ordered from UK for delivery to UK address and has only got US style plug, so cannot use!

Selling a monitor to UK consumers with a half-metre (20 inches) long power cable is absurd. The European plug one that was in the box was two metres/six ft long which is what the UK cable should have been. Given this I cannot recommend buying this monitor from Amazon or the seller concerned (I T Ltd). Update: And in a very typically British response the vendor has got in touch to ask I amend this review and then to blame me for not being able to use the power cable as supplied. Funny how Dell provides a six foot cable with an EU plug as part of the package but the vendor thinks that us Brits have all got our monitors within 15 - 20 inches of a wall plug/in-built desk plug. Avoid.
