The entire set is a great bargain. The pieces feel sturdy and the ratchet is of great quality. I used it to work on my car over the weekend; no complaints.

Let me start by saying that I purchased this set with the intent of having a small socket set to keep in the trunk for roadside emergencies. Being that my Corolla uses metric fasteners, I wanted a kit that had a decent range of sizes. After comparing several similarly sized and priced sets, this one seemed to offer the best versatility and price. I decided to replace the 7/8 and 13/16 SAE sockets with 20mm and 21mm sockets, respectively, to increase the upper size range of the metric set. Unfortunately, while attempting to remove a caliper bolt this weekend, the ratchet gears have bound up. While attempting to break the bolt loose, I heard a *click*. I looked at the ratchet to find that the direction lever was now in the middle, and it could not be moved left or right. The socket would not turn left or right either. I was very surprised at the notion that a Dewalt brand tool would fail under such low stress. Fortunately, I had my Kobalt set nearby to finish the job. Aside from the paperweight of a ratchet, the rest of this set is really nice. You get a pretty wide size range of metric and SAE sockets, a low profile case, good quality sockets with nice size label engraving on them, and a bit of extra space under the organizer tray to store additional items. Another reviewer here mentioned that the clear plastic lid of the case was flimsy and will likely not last long, however, Im of the opinion that it should be sufficiently durable for being kept in a trunk or in a drawer as a backup set. The space underneath the the plastic organizer that the tools are nestled in can be used to store additional items. In there I have two large sockets (the original 7/8 and 13/16 sockets from this set that I swapped for more metric sockets), a 10 long ⅜ extension, a 6 long ⅜ extension, and a 3 long ⅜ extension. There is enough space that you could fit a few more small accessories in there as well. The box advertises Dewalts Limited Lifetime Warranty, so Im going to try to reach out to Dewalt customer support and see if theyll replace the ratchet. I really like the rest of the kit, and Id rather not send the whole set back through Amazons return process if I dont have to. Ill update this review if I hear back from Dewalt or Amazon. UPDATE 07/20/22: After explaining the situation to Dewalt customer support by email, Dewalt shipped a replacement ratchet, which arrived in about a week and a half. The new ratchet functions fine so far, perhaps I just happened to get a dud the first time around. 5 stars to Dewalts customer service team for honoring the advertised warranty and issuing a replacement without any hassle.

I have the 1/2 impact set and bought this one later, love that they stack together and are great to grab and take out of my tool box to work on something out of my shop. The only complaint I have is the 3/8th ratchet could be a little longer. Since I mostly use them with 18v cordless tools to drive them, its not a big deal, but if youre trying to break a stubborn bolt loose and cant get an impact in there, youll probably want a longer ratchet or long pattern wrench.

Works perfectly for jobs where 3/8 just isnt enough. LOVE DeWalt!

Its a really nice ratchet set but I really wouldnt recommend it for people who work in the dark or on a farm. I keep losing pieces while working in the back hay field. They just seem to disappear in the grass. I love the black coating its very nice but it probably going to go back to the silver ones.

I havent used the impact sockets yet but they look good for the money. Just cant find anything made in the USA these days. China again. I have a Impact Gun that advertises 900 -1100 Ft. pounds of breakaway torque. I believe these sockets will take it OK. Mainly using for Home Auto repair and my Yard equipment repair hobby. I have been using Craftsman sockets but the impact gun beats away the chrome plating on the square drive. Anyway, all good except the case which is fragile at best. But for $40, it seemed like a good deal.
