> 3 dayThis was perfect for measuring the outside of the house and along the property line. It winds up really fast, and feels very sturdy. It is an insanely great deal for the price and I regret not getting one of these earlier. Ive been stumbling along in life with a 25ft tape measure, and having to estimate as I adjusted for the next 25ft. Definitely plan on this one lasting a long time.

> 3 dayI used it to make a helicopter landing zone in an austere environment. Worked perfect. Heavy duty design and easy to read. It was so good my coworker stole it from me...

> 3 dayI usually dont bother with a review if its not an amazon verified purchase. But after seeing the only other review for this product, I was reminded just how bad it is, and thought Id share my frustration. Im a fan of most things DeWalt, so this is not based on anything but its performance. I measure houses in different stages of construction every day. I broke my old 100 tape, so on route to the next job, I picked this up from HD. It looked great, felt nice although a little bigger than the lufkin I had just broke. I liked that it had a clip because most of the time Im using a 30 tape and carrying a plan around as well. It also had a clean out for dirt or saw dust. That was interesting, but Ive rarely seen a tape fail from too much dirt. Its usually water that ruins them, or the dreaded kink. Anyway... When I arrived at the job site, the first thing I dealt with was trying to get it out if the wrapper. I assure you, this is NOT frustration free packaging!! Once out (10 min later) I went to pull my first measurement. Looked good and felt nice. Until I tried to roll it up and the gears stripped before I finished the first roll. This is the honest truth. I kept using it, but instead of a 3-1ratio, it was more like 1-6. I could eventually get it back, but it sure sucked. Ive been using it for a month or so. It still barely makes it back in, but not for much longer. And to top it off, the convenient clip on the thing?? It works fine to clip to a belt loop, but as I walk around taking measurements with the shorter tape or the DeWalt laser, the tape in this slowly slides out with each step. Doesnt matter how you set the lock. Within a few steps, theres 12 of tape dragging on the ground. It would be impossible for this product to actually perform any worse.
