Must have for people looking into doing your own thing . With you tube and this meter you can save LOTS of money doing simple stuff yourself.

Electrical test devices in this kit have great potential for household projects and auto repairs. However, operator instructions are too brief for the novice user. It would be very helpful if a booklet was included that describes applications for using the various components within the test kit and also how to interpret and apply various readings.

Got this kit after a cheap multi meter died, fixing up my sisters house. The kitchen had two outlets side by side, and I had a radio plugged into one set of receptacles, found the breaker, and came back up. I had the tester in the other receptacle and it was still hot (wired separate). Look, learn how to use these safely, but yeah, having the small tester in my back pocket kept me from being surprised. If you can swing the cost of a Fluke, get it, but if you need a mid level tool set with a solid rep, dont bother saving $10-$20, get a Klein. And always test, trust nothing electrical without testing it. BTW the main meter does not auto-range or auto detect, but that is fine with me.

I bought this a while back to fix a short on my truck. I finally ended up using it and the test leads didnt work with the 10amp. I tried, tried so many times to figure it out until I finally gave in. It just didnt work, so I took my hammer and took out my frustration on it. Great for stress relief, bad for what its meant to do.
