The handles are rustic-looking, heavy, and slightly lighter in color than the post indicates. High quality and really great looking. However, the screws provided with the handles are over an inch long - way too long if youre planning to install these handles on opposite sides of an average width door, gate, or (like me) a interior barn door. Local hardware store did not stock 1/2 black wood screws, so I had to special order them... from Amazon....
