> 24 houroriginally bought the Dewalt package, which is really, really hard steel & it snapped in the hole. Now this is a really small screw in a lawnmower, holding the transformer in place that sparks the spark plug as the magnets float by, so I couldnt go bigger. Used a grinder to make an [X] on top center of hole & titanium impact bits from Harbor Freight to cut the initial hole & break bit. The larger grooves & some PB blaster, allowed the metals to collect as I turned the new tap, so I could screw unscrew, blow out/wipe & repeat, until the hole was clear for a new screw to go in. Dewalts pack, just didnt have deep enough grooves for the metals & snapped when I was unscrewing, which was likely my fault. But this bit allowed me to go deeper, so it was quicker & a better choice for my project.

> 24 hourThis tap held up and did not break when using. I had broke two other brand taps and this tap held up and did not break while using it on aluminum.

> 24 hourI got the 1/4-20 tap and it was very sharp and strong. Just remember when tapping by hand, be sure to use tapping fluid and to back out your tap and clear out the chips as soon as you see or feel the tap itself starting to twist, and repeat until done, dont push the tap any farther than that or you risk it breaking it. I used this tap in 8 holes in 3/8 in thick steel of my 1,000 lb capacity garden wagon frame, and it was still sharp as new.

> 24 hourIt broke on me but to be fair you take a risk each time you use a drill instead of a tap/die bar. It cut through thin gauge steel (my original reason for buying it) without tap fluid easy. It made it through 10 out of 12 deep aluminum holes with fluid before snapping. To be fair, and hence my 5 star, I knew the risk from using a drill for it and it was an afterthought. Some slide/rail parts I got only had half of the holes tapped for whatever reason, and I noticed they were 10-32 so I finished em with this guy. If I had an originally bigger purpose for purchasing, I would have paid $10 for a solid tap bit, but since I initially bought this for literally 4 tiny holes, and it was $3, Ill give it 5 stars

> 24 hourQuick shipping. Only used it for a single cross threaded hole. Fixed my issue in 2 minutes. So worth the $7!!!!!!!

> 24 hourWorking in an elementary school, I discovered that the adjusting screw for desk legs that had been used werent really the right size. Turns out there was no right size, but this tap made short work of producing a tapped hole that perfectly fit the available screws.

> 24 hour#8--32 tap worked well. I used as a re-threader in an old junction box so I could use two semi-corroded screw holes

> 24 hourGood tap. Labeled as HSS. Tapered with two flutes, bright HSS. Cuts fine. No country of origin on tap or package that I can see. Good deal for the price.
