Greater than one weekI ordered a BOTTOM TAP. I received an angled spiral cut tap which is not what is described, not what I ordered, and not what the protective box it came inside said it was. I was able to get the job done but had to modify the item I was working on to do so.

> 3 dayThis is a taper tap which easily advances in a prepared hole of correct size or for use in chasing damaged threads. Good value for the money.

> 3 dayI expected a cheap tap, given the price, but this 1-8 tap still disappointed me. I used it to chase an already threaded hole in cast iron, way down in a deep well. It would not fit in my Lisle tap socket. The nominal spec for the flats on a 1 tap is .600; I measure my other 1 taps at .595+-.001. This one was .603 one way and .602 the other; too big for a tap socket. I had to mutilate it on a belt grinder to get it to fit.

> 3 dayI used this to chase threads in blind holes in an automotive cast iron housing prior to reassembly. It did the job I needed and after waiting for more than two weeks for the local hardware to obtain one of these taps, I had this one through amazon to use in two days for slightly less cost.

Greater than one weekI really wish they could have been supplied in high speed steel, instead of carbon steel. I tap some tough materials, and I have concerns how long these will hold up.
