Dyson Vacuum Motorhead (For V11)

My wife and I knew going in that Dyson products are overpriced. But with a supposed lifespan of around 7 to 10 years, I figured that we would at least have a reliable product for quite a while. Wrong! After moderate usage at most, the original motorhead failed after 29 months---just 5 months out of warranty. None of the online steps to bring it back to life have worked. Its toast. After investing several hundred dollars in the vacuum, we decided to spring for a new motorhead to the tune of around $130. Another reviewer has mentioned that the replacement is smaller than the original. But I didnt realize it was going to be this tiny, as shown in the comparison photo. No doubt this is to save money producing the part. But considering what Dyson charges for its products, it shouldnt be this small. If I had known that we were going to have this kind of trouble with a Dyson vacuum, I would have brought a less expensive brand to begin with (he said with the usual perfect 20-20 hindsight). In any case, we wont be buying any more Dyson products after this. The next time this vacuum becomes unusable, we will cut our losses and move on to something else.

The motorhead on the original stick vacuum burnt out when I tried to vacuum a rug that had a fair amount of hair and dirt. The problem was that I did not realize that the brush end most distant from the part that you can unscrew with a coin had a build up of fibers, lint and dirt in the space beyond the bristles and so the brush could not move anymore.

This is a replacement part. Original part did NOT last the life of the vacuum. Item was out of stock for a period of time plus reviews & YouTube stories lead me to believe that this is a common problem—weakest link.

The original brush broke and I’m so happy to get another original brush for Dyson v11, works the same and I’m happy I don’t have to buy another vacuum for now.

In the picture it shows the words High Torque on the Motörhead. The one I received doesn’t have that wording. Unless I misread what it states on Dyson’s webpage, there is a difference between High Torque and the non high torque. I don’t know how to rate it so I gave it three stars.

The original head on my v8 animal was for hard floors and unsuitable to clean the carpets. The high torque motorhead was delivered quickly and happy to confirm works very well both on hard surfaces and carpets. I dont use the former head anymore as this one is adjustable.

I love my Dyson but I have cement floors so it is rough to vacuum. I am glad that I can get on here and order new heads as needed.

Comprato questo prodotto, perché la spazzola originaria si è consumata dopo 4 mesi... Aspira meno della spazzola originaria, anche se è sempre un prodotto Dyson e ogni tanto si blocca, le spazzole non girano più, però per fortuna ancora funziona... Unica cosa positiva è che è più silenziosa, ma questo forse dipende proprio dal fatto che aspira meno, comunque il suo lavoro lo fa.

Replaced the original power head

Its has great suction but lots of parts make of thin plastic and brake very easy.. I had to change the head of the vacuum and cost $100.00 But most important , you call customer service and you are on hold for iternal. Not worth the price!!!!
