Youll need a small flat screw driver or pair of pliers. Worked great on my 2005 Murano. One strut is strong enough to keep the hood and rear hatch open. Not sure how strong OEM ones were when new, but it takes some effort to close, which is far better than taking effort to keep open. Fit and finish were identical to OEM, hopefully these ones last 15 years like the old ones

Easiest item to remove and install!

I received my order so very fast I was really impressed. When the lifter struts were put in I was again so happy I purchased them, as my hood & trunk lifts so easily they almost lift themselves. Love them!!
