You can get an amperage draw reading thru the fuse test port by using a multimeter forcing the current(amperage) thru the meter leads NOTE: Polarity has to be correct orientation(or you will blow a meter fuse).. But this tool is idiot proof basically. Just plug and play and put an amp clamp thru the red wire hoop. Take your reading and your done. Then troubleshoot the issue if need be. This tool is easy to use compared to a conventional amperage test procedure

I work as a professional auto mechanic. I am an ASE Master Tech with advanced certification. I purchased this Fuse Buddy to use with my Snap-on Low Amp Clamp. With this Fuse Buddy I am able to plug it into the fuse and then clamp my low amp clamp around the loop and diagnose a circuit. When I purchased this I was going to diagnose a problem with a fuel pump. With the Fuse Buddy I didnt have to go under the car I could easily do my diagnoses with my amp clamp and the fuse buddy. The best part of it was when the problem happened I could see that I was still getting normal amperage to the fuel pump so I knew then that the problem was not with the fuel pump. These Fuse Buddys are a great find for anyone working in the field and wants to save a little time. The best part is that you can use them on any electrical circuit that requires a fuse. This comes in real handy when the component you want to test is hard to get to such as a fuel pump. Most automotive electrical devices are in series with the fuse so if you check the wiring diagram and this is the case then the amperage will be the same threw out the circuit. Like I said these Fuse Buddys are GREAT!!!!!!!!!!

This Fuse buddys loop fits my Fluke 80i-410 clamp on current probe. The problem is the side fuse holder receptacle. The metal part wasnt molded into the plastic housing correctly so you can barely force the fuse into it to check the amps. I sent it back for a replacement and Ill see how that works out.

Even though you can use a multimeter to test the current flow in a system, with this it isnt limited to 10 amps a multimeters fuse is and you can quickly use to measure current on a system without having to tie into the system if you can a inductive clamp.
