Exo Terra Boston Fern Terrarium Plant, Small

Cid Highwind loves it (corn snake). this is my second one, the first one is getting rough from 7ish years of washing.

I just brought home a baby bearded dragon after many years of owning leopard geckos. So owning reptiles is not a foreign concept to me, and I enjoy putting together a proper tank and closure that both is attractive and highly functional and enjoyable for the reptile. I really thought when I first purchased this plant that it fit the bill perfectly. You can see from the first picture that it is very beautiful, expands well takes up a lot of space, provides plenty of branches for the beardie to lay on and hide within, and gives excellent shade. Unfortunately, it’s perfection was very short-lived. After less than one month in the tank, the heat lamps have begun completely disintegrating the plant. This is shocking, because this plant is advertised as being a terrarium plant, which means it will come in to contact with various different light set ups, most of which contain a heat source or two. The plant constantly sheds teeny tiny “Christmas needles” (see pic), which seem to be irresistible to my little guy. He gets confused and then eats them, which led to an impaction. Thankfully, it was able to be cleared without a visit to the vet. You can see in my close-up photo how the edges of the leaves completely fray and essentially melt away. This plant is not at all safe if your terrarium requires an intense light set up. it can kill your lizards; buyer beware!

I loved this when I opened it and love exo terra! but I noticed that the fabric leafs were falling apart and small green fibers were falling everywhere by the hundreds and if that got in my snakes water she could ingest it not cool!!!!

Great product! Used two of these and 1 large one for a 40 breeder ball python cage.

Easy to clean and my snake seems to enjoy it too!

Perfect taller addition for my bearded dragons tank. Has a nice heavy bottom so it isnt easily able to knock over.

Love it! It topples over a lot, so I keep it in the corner where my repti cant nudge it.

My veiled chemillion loves the tree

Its okay, looks quite nice and adds a bit of colour to the vivarium, however it is a little flimsy. The green leaves at the bottom are green on one side but considerably more pale on the other, and it doesnt look very authentic. If you position it right, it could look okay, but overall it is very fake looking and very flimsy - you might want to bury the base a little or support it with stones to prevent it falling over in the event of anything jumping on it (I have a crested gecko and there is no way this could support his weight)
