> 24 hourGreat screws, but did not come with the bit that it takes to drive the screws into wood. Now I have to hope the hardware store has some so I can start my project.

> 24 hourGlad I saw reviews of these screws on some woodworking websites and decided to buy them. I used them to build a large workbench (connecting 4x4s and 2x4s)...much easier than traditional hex-head lag screws or carriage bolts Ive used in the past. Though they say no pilot hole is needed, I found they are so aggressive when being drilled in, they can/will split wood if installed too close to the edge. Pilot holes eliminated that problem. Other than that situation, they really dont need pilot holes. They wide head eliminates the need to use washers, saving time and money, yet allows them to be driven flush or even countersunk. Would happily use them again.

> 24 hourThese are great screws. The other reviewers have covered their good points. There is a catch--the driver needed to use them. While it certainly resists cam-out, the teeth or splines on the drivers tend to break all too easily--sometimes after driving only 20-30 screws. I dont know whether the problem is with the number of points, which makes each drive spline too thin, or inadequate heat-treating, or what. I do know that if, like me, you use this type of screw in large quantities (I am a builder and specifically a timber-framer), you will need a significant back-up supply of the drivers. That said, I continue to use these screws for their strength, good looks, and durability.

> 24 hourthese are as strong as 3/16 lag bolts but a lot easier to use and look great for my shelf brackets
