Well built with an aluminum case to act as heatsink. It never gets hot in my experience though. I used the switch with devices that didnt need power, a USB camera and a katana soundbar. The switch is very solid, easy to switch your four USB 3.2 devices between two computers. USB cables connect snugly but not too tight. It’s a compact size also, easy to travel with. Also has some rubber pads on the bottom to keep it in place on your desk.

This seemed like the perfect compact solution for sharing a keyboard and mouse between a tower and a laptop which are used at the same time. Set up was simple, and I now have one keyboard and one mouse connected to a tower PC and a laptop at the same time, and am able to easily switch between which computer the peripherals are connected to. I dont need a KVM since I use the external monitor with the tower and use the laptop with its monitor. So far so good - as long as this holds up I will remain pleased. It was also less expensive than some others. I suppose if you want to future proof for your needs, you could always get a KVM switch and just not connect the monitor.

Ordered this to switch common devices between 2 computers. So far, its working as promised. With a click of a switch, I can share these between 2 computers, regardless if its Windows or Linux or OSX: - usb sound card - mouse - keyboard -printer What I havent tried is connecting a USB drive. As this is a usb 3.0 device, which means the data transfer speed is 5Gbps max, and the computers Im using have usb ports faster than that, I did not bother with it. All in all, it does what it suppose to - share peripherals between computers.

I use this switch for switching back and forth between my work laptop and my home computer. I have one mouse and one keyboard plugged into it. I did not want to include the video switching because I use a large monitor that has multiple HDMI inputs. So that is the first thing to be aware of--it is a KM switch, not a KVM switch. This stands for Keyboard (Video) Mouse. So in this case, no video switching, just keyboard/mouse. Also realize, it can act as a pseudo-USB hub as well, since it has four USB inputs. Perhaps throw a USB drive youd like to share between the computers on one of the ports. Or in my case, when I need to use a USB drive, its just easier for me to plug it in to this device that sits right in front of my keyboard. No need to reach over behind the computer. It is very elegant! It has nice silicone bumpers on the bottom so it does not slide/bounce or make noises. I like the minimalist design. However, this is also the slight downfall! It is so light that when you have many cords plugged in, it may move. I wish it had a mounting mechanism. I was hoping for a couple screw-mounts on the back, but no go. That is the only reason I took off a star. If they threw some weights in there, just to make it a bit heavier, it would go a long way. Note, it does NOT come with a power adapter. In my case, and many cases (I suspect), you will not need one. However, if you plan to have all four inputs plugged in at once, and ESPECIALLY if you plan on charging a device from it, youll want to run an extra USB-C to one of your devices, so it can get that extra 5V as necessary! I imagine a low amperage 5v wall-wart would work too. One last thing--if you dont have USB-C (are you living under a rock?), and you require the extra 5V, they do include a USB-C (M) to A (F) adapter. Almost there--4.5 stars!

Compact design that looks good on my desk. Easy to switch between my home computer and my docked work laptop so I can now have one mouse and one keyboard for use on both.

I use this to transfer things from one computer to another more easily when not using cloud storage. I can easily have hard storage for my graphic design/video editing workstation as well as my music production station and am able to transfer files between the 2 using the multiple HDD I use. It works flawlessly.
