Stainless steel doesnt hold an edge as well as carbon steel, so stainless blades (Fiskars) will dull faster. Carbon steel blades (Dritz) probably perform better under heavy use in a dry environment. I cut only cheesecloth for making cheese, and my environment is always damp. Stainless is better for me.

Im a quilter and use a LOT of rotary blades, so these were essential. I am so glad I got a multi-pack because I seem to go through them quickly as I do a lot of cutting. Great blades for the price!
