The Fluidmaster 703A is so much easier to install than the Fluidmaster 400A.

Item was exactly what I was looking for and could not find in my local and national hardware stores. Waited to review item until performance could be evaluated. It worked and is still working perfectly. Installation was simple and easy to do.

We do not use a water softener unit on our water supplied by the city of Cape Coral, FL. My assumption was that at the price/gallon they charge that everything should be fine not knowing the water had excess lime that causes scale build up. After many years the Glacier Bay toilet fill valve was acting erratically so I found an exact replacement online from Amazon and placed an ordered a replacement Fluidmaster series 703A valve which was an exact duplicate. I simply unscrewed the old one from the supply line at the top of the tank and screwed on the new one, All of this was very easy and the only thing left was to simply adjust the water level screw on the float. Thank you Amazon, as initially had no idea where to get a replacement. Was thinking of getting a softener to remove the lime but wondering about generating leaks in the rest of the house, (Faucets, fittings and etcetera) as the lime is dissolved by the softened water.
