Got it for my husband. He loves it.

Its super useful to confirm that a wire is not live before doing any work. I use it after verifying this in other ways (like flipping the switch and seeing that the lights turn on and off, then opening the breaker, then flipping again and seeing that the lights no longer turn on), and its a nice extra layer of safety. Also can be used to identify which wire is hot if there is confusion about that.

Works only if you can get really close to the powered wire. Most outlets didnt successfully alert, so its not a substitute for a contact tester.

Works very well, which is expected from a good brand such as Fluke.

This low voltage detector is a great addition to your tool box.............useful in troubleshooting low voltage circuits (ex. control circuits in residential/commercial HVAC systems)

Works very well, except most of the new outlets that Ive installed (Leviton) have a child-safety feature built in thats a little plastic door covering the holes and this tester doesnt seem to get into that door very well. I have to remove the faceplate to test the actual wiring if the circuits shut off. TIP - number the circuits on your panel and then write that number on the back of the light/outlet switch plate. So you will remember which circuit to flip next time.

This is the best non-contact electrical tester...ever, coming from a Local 102 IBEW electrician for over 30 years :)

No light beam as most have now, but this is just a Solid Fluke Product, as are most all their line.

I use this product every single day at work and its probably the most important tool I own. Very simple with one button, and does the job I need it to do. If your an electrician, like myself, you need one of these!
