This item was purchased to allow me to test some buried electric cable which I believe is no longer a live wire. I opened the package and followed the instructions and the tool worked perfectly. The item is easy to use, was easy to order, and arrived in the mail as promised.

Since I work for a company that uses Fluke Network Equipment, I immediately figure this product will do exactly what I want it to do but, be more expensive then other products. I was wrong, the price was good and worth it, I purchased a different product (later returned to buy this one) and it worked but, not as good as this one. Even though this is a non-contact tester, you still need to touch a wire to tell its hot but, it tells you which is the hot wire compared to other testers that just go crazy when you get close to something hot. This is helpful in home improvement tasks with old wiring.

I used to use a neon test light, but this one can check wires that arent even connected, so it beats the test light for sure.

Works like a charm when ever i have electrical wiring to check for live voltages before i begin work.Fits nice in my shirt or pants pocket for easy access.

You will be shocked at how well this works. Ive had other brands that actually worked too well. They would read voltage from wires that were six inches away while you were trying to check a wire right at the tip. This FLUKE voltage checker works much better. And if your boss loses his in the drop ceiling of some hospital some day, this one is a great gift to get him for a replacement.

$30 is a small price to pay if you like being alive and not chatting with Tesla in hell. j/k hes in heaven.

Should really have audible alert. What if someone gets use to the pen always being on and doesnt use the battery check button and thinks the circuit is off. It works so i wont give it 1 star. But for the price i would much rather have the Klein tester.

Excellent must have device. How my house is wired its sometimes difficult to know if theres any electricity running when I turn the power off. this works great on letting me know and so easy to use

Great product not sensitive like other tracers
