> 3 dayThis is a replacemen for an identical tester. On the old one the battery compartment corroded heavily and the tester would not read. I liked the unit so I bought another one. I have purchased several brands during the past few years and this is the best, in my opinion.

> 3 daybutton does not always work the first time. recessed too deep. Also, two different modes; hold recessed button a short period to activate sound/light mode, and hold recessed button for a longer period to activate silent/lighted mode. just curious, why would a silent mode be needed?.. I bought the device on the premise of the sound feature.

Greater than one weekI love this thing, it lives in my pocket every day, and I hate to be without it. I had one save my life once when working on some circuitry connected to a mislabeled breaker. Ive used the Klein, and a couple of different brands of these, but the Fluke 2AC is by far my favorite. I hate the beeping that the others will do, and the always-on feature is nice as well. They dont respond particularly well to going through the washer, but otherwise theyre pretty tough. I tend to kill one every two years or so, but I feel that each replacement is $30 well spent. Buy the thing, its worth it.

Greater than one weekI have several Fluke pieces of equipment including a 28II , a 289, and a 725 and a few others, the 2AC I wasnt impressed with. have had two of the 1AC testers. One my father in law liked it so I gave it to him and bought another one to replace it. I got the 2AC and some other stuff for free from Fluke for buying some other Fluke gear. I dont like the fact that I cannot hear it, at least with the 1AC it had the option of turning the beep off if I didnt want it, also the 2AC doesnt feel as sturdy as the 1AC. Also the 2AC is a lot more sensitive than the 1AC, which means it can be hard to detect which wire is hot when in close proximity to each other. In bright sunlight the light can be hard to see. I determined I didnt like the 2AC so I threw it in with a Fluke 179 I sold on eBay to make the deal more enticing.
