> 24 hourAfter reading some of the other reviews, I was a little hesitant to test the Field Sense technology on this Fluke electrical tester. Even the back of the packaging says FieldSense feature requires capactitive path to ground, provided through user in most applications. Ground via test lead may be required in some situations. So that concerned me a little but I went ahead and tested it anyway on a 120v AC wire that I knew was live but nothing was drawing any current, just to see what would happen.

> 24 hourThe voltage measurement is useful and interesting; however it is auto ranging only and slow! I did not expect fast dynamic performance but it to slow to use a general meter for industrial controls. May be great for general electrical use but I can not really speak to that. Since the leads are attached it is very long and needs a really long case so you are not flexing the leads every time you put it away. As a current probe it picky as to the placement of the wire in the fork. No were near as good as the T5-1000

> 24 hourIts Fluke and Im happy to say this is another example of their excellent products. Ive been trying to diagnose an intermittent issue with my tank-less water heater and a contact-less current reading is just what I needed. As far as I can tell it is very accurate as the elements should be pulling 30 amps each and thats what is reading. The fact that its not a one-trick pony is nice too. The upgraded version allows reading voltage and current at the same time but its not too difficult with this one to hit the button to switch between them. The well made leads round it out by allowing resistance/conductivity measurements as well. They wrap the wire with thick rubber so I expect them to hold up to a lot of use. The body itself is sturdy as well with nothing flimsy and a strong plastic over the display. If for some reason you cut them they are made to be able to be replaced so thats a plus. This is a good auto-ranging meter and Id recommend it to anyone.

> 24 hourI really like this product, the field sense tech works great as long as you use a true ground reference. I’ve compared it to other meters, another Fluke and a Klein, and it reads true with the one probe on ground and the forks around the wire. Because everyone’s body creates a different amount of resistance, that feature is useful only as an induction tester. It will identify a wire with voltage, but will not give you a true reading.
