Fluke T6-1000 PRO Electrical Tester

Greater than one weekMy home has knob and tube wiring as well as state-of-the-art (for 1905) fused neutral lines as part of the circuitry. As you might imagine, there are plenty of opportunities to use a single wire electrical tester. Ive had no difficulties with the T6-1000. The unit comes with a probe cap set as well as a ToolPak hanger. A quick reference guide is included - although the website for Fluke has additional information and support, there is no more extensive manual available. Overall, Ive found the unit to be reliable, and most importantly, easy to operate with one hand, which is always useful in a tight crawl space or attic. The display is large and easy to read, with a selectable LED backlight. The testing cords are highly flexible, provide reasonable protection, and latch into the back of the unit when not in use (you actually have to latch at least the ground cord in when using the sensing fork).

> 3 dayNot an electrician but this is far superior to my old tester. Really like the field sense technology.

> 3 dayNeed to place the cable totally in the clamp to be able to read on the field mode, if you put the wire near to the front clamp wont read anything

> 3 dayNot very accurate readings on sensing. Yes, I know that there needs to be a proper path to ground. I just found it very annoying to try to get the wire in just the right sweet spot to get any kind of reading. All my testing equipment is Fluke, I am just glad I didnt get rid of the T5 when I bought this.

Greater than one weekWorks just like my older t5-1000 but slow on the reading voltage, takes a few seconds for it to detect proper voltage as it will say like ~112 then change to ~119 using both probes. Kinda makes me question the accuracy. Love the back light and that it fits 4/0 AL for amp readings.

> 3 dayFirst of all, safety: Fieldsense wants to use your body as a ground. This is horrifying to me. And, when you try to use it, leads to inaccurate readings, unless youre very very sweaty. I taped over the fieldsense lug and use the ground probe.
