Forza Horizon 3 – Xbox One

Quite possibly the best racing Ive ever played. The environments are full and colorful, the car selection is massive, and the soundtrack (radio stations) are full of energy. If you have played and liked Forza Horizon 1 and 2, I can say with confidence that youll love this third installment.

Forza Horizon returns! This time the Festival visits Australia which was a good choice for scenic purposes. Now, I am not a car guy, I literally know nothing about cars. But I bought Horizon 2 on Black Friday two years ago and I loved it. So I had high expectations for Horizon 3. And it delivers on those expectations. The game immediately tosses you in as the Festival leader for the first time, walking you through new features like hiring drivatars to work for the Festival, hiring radio stations, or building a fan base through both races and stunt events. Showcase events are back and the game pretty much kicks off with the showcase that is shown in many of the trailers, where you race a huge double-rotor helicopter. Other showcases include racing a group of high-speed boats and a train. The game is also very flexible with allowing you to do what you want when you want. Once you open up a festival location, you can choose from a wide variety of race events or PR stunts. And to advance you dont have to do them all. Its nice to be allowed to have some more freedom in the game.

Love this game. I have had Horizon 3 for well over a year now, and I still enjoy playing it. For the non-Forza players, the Horizon series is different from the others. The regular Forza games are driving simulators. Realistic car physics on realistic tracks. This is an open world format, where you can drive from location A to location B anyway your want. Various races are scattered around the world with different types of races. And there are a ton of them. This game is based in Australia, and even just driving across the outback in my Ford Raptor knocking down trees and getting awesome air is a lot of fun.

This games takes forever & a day to load or that was our experience. We have many other games that all load quickly & efficiently so I do not think it is our network or system. We were so excited to get this game based on all the rave reviews but ultimately decided to return based on the long load times. We did play it a few times and it is very cool with detailed graphics, great music etc. But waiting 1-2 hours to load up is not acceptable. Also, this game can only be played SOLO only when off-line and does not have a split screen to compete against local players. For a racing game, that is also a BIG negative for families who want to crush each other in the same room. I am not sure why this game gets high reviews based on these factors alone.

This is the best racing game I have played, and I own a PS4 and an Xbox One. It has improved upon Horizon 2. The way the events are set up are cool and bringing new drivers to festivals and getting sponsors is fun. Plus racing through Australia is gorgeous! I highly recommend this game to any non-sim racing game fan.

A holiday Gift for my son. Hes been playing it non stop. Im guessing hes loving it.
