First it was a bit scary. A bit later, when the very hungry caterpillar from the book appeared to kiss the baby in person, it has become the most loved toy ever! Regarding washing it - had no issues, even after it got swiped at a dog park.

My baby girl loves this butterfly, it keeps her entertained in her glider. I attached to a toy bar and she reaches for hit. The colors are bright and the face is attractive to her. She is 2 months and works well with her age I would repurchase it if I wanted a gift for a baby.
