Games Workshop - Warhammer 40,000 - Iron Hands Feirros

This was exactly as expected, legit GW model, came shrink wrapped and no damage in transit. Cant wait to paint this up!

This guy looks amazing, especially after I cut him up and threw him on a Breachers tank tracks.

I was so excited when they announced this model, FINALLY a new character for someone other than Ultramarines. I Preordered it, and was so excited to build it and paint it. I cannot lie, the model is superb, and easy to assemble despite how detailed he is. His rules were also very appealing...until the FAQ dropped. Feirros is a techmarine, techmarines are vehicle repair characters. He has an ability called Rites of Tempering which gives friendly units within several inches a 5+ invulnerable save. In the FAQ they released for the Iron Hands supplement, they made this so it only affects INFANTRY. Feirros himself doesnt have an invulnerable save, so it doesnt make sense to have him up front with your infantry given that hes 110 points AND a warlord type character. His best support function was taken away for reasons I cant comprehend, which makes spending the amount of coin he costs to purchase frustrating. Had they stripped Rites of Tempering from infantry, I wouldnt have complained. Hes not an infantry support character, hes a TECHMARINE, but now I doubt Ill ever play him. I wish Id not have built the model so I could send it back for a refund. And this is a shame, because the model itself is a FANTASTIC SCULPT. If youre just a hobby person, hes cool to have, but if youre playing the game, I cant recommend him over other characters. You could field a Captain AND Regular Techmarine for a little more point-wise.

The pieces fit together well, the assembly instructions were super easy to follow, and the model has a lot of depth and detail. It is an awesome looking model, and looks even better after it is all painted up!

Bought this gift as Christmas Present , arrived early
