Generac 7102 Oil Heater Kit for 9kW - 22kW Air Cooled Standby Generators , Orange

This Generac oil heater is recommended when temperatures stay below freezing. Here in NJ that happens frequently during the winter months. Looking forward to easy starting in the coming months!

It looks like a great idea, but it is still summer time and really hasnt been cold.

Works well

Original Generac part. Has been working as directed. Engine has no problem starting at 20F. Will see when temp drops more, but should not be a problem. Make sure to change oil to 5W30 upon installation. That will also help. Will be purchasing all my Generac parts through Amazon.

The heater clicks on once the temperature drops below 40 degrees Fahrenheit it is powered by the battery that is constantly charged by the battery charger. Its simple to plug into the existing port. The only problem is that it only fits Generac filters which are thinner and more expensive. I had th replace my filter to get it to work

Electrician advised this add on for Generac Generator in Michigan weather. Proof will be in the eventual pudding!

Installed easy

The instructions were a bit confusing.....saying to turn off breakers, pull fuses and such, but, overall the heater was easy to put in......it seems to be working as advertised......

Easy to install and worked fine for 8 days.....until the generator on a Exercise Now failed to start. Click Click Error RPM sensor E1505. Oil filter was warm as expected I removed heater and unplugged battery warmer too. Then cleared error code and did a manual start. Then put unit in auto and pushed GFI test on main transfer panel breaker generator started and transferred power ( ran 10 minutes ) as it should. Reset breaker and closed it up. Ran two scheduled test fine....Possible loose wire connections on sensors above oil filter to the right. Wife is being a typical woman Not understanding and blaming me....WTF?

It is working fine got down to - 10 and oil was warm, and generator started fine.
