6. Contrast Ratio. It measures the ratio between the brightest parts of an image and the darkest. A contrast ratio of 10,000:1 means that the brightest whites of an image are 10,000 times brighter than the darkest blacks. High contrast allows an image with greater detail and realism, while low contrast ratios leave images looking washed out and lifeless.
