> 24 hourLet me start by saying this is an excellent game. There are a plethora of historical details from individually named target ship lists to Italian medals to specialized boats and missions. The narrative of play is very high! I’m deducting one star because there are too many typos on the charts and some of the rules are still unclear; for the 4th volume in a series, I expected better. Still, this is an engaging release that’s highly recommend for historical and solitaire gamers alike. It’s very accessible whether you are a new or a veteran gamer.

> 24 hourReally like this game. Recommend it. It is a solitaire board game but does has a two player variant as optional rule.

> 24 hourFun game that is designed for solo play. All complete in the box. Rules are pretty detailed and have most situations covered. Still a few errors in the printed materials, but most can be figured out. Exciting to play and different each time for good repeat play.

> 24 hourThis is the next game in the Hunters series of WWII submarine war games (game number 4). This time you will head to sea with the Italian navy. Like its predecessors, you will have a wide variety of submarines to command on both Mediterranean and Atlantic patrols, including SLC (manned torpedo) missions. If you are familiar with any of the prior games in this series you will have no problem sliding into this game. The rules have been updated a little since Silent Victory, but not so much that you will need to do a lot of reading before setting sail. If you have not played any of the Hunters series games before, fear not, the rules are pretty easy to learn and although the game is a tad more difficult than The Hunters, not so much so as to be any real problem. If you have an interest in WWII submarine war games, this is a nice addition to your collection, and a nice change of pace from the usual German U-boats, or U.S. Pacific fleet operations. This game does not disappoint!

> 24 hourBeneath the Med is a solo submarine combat game based in the Mediterranean during WWII. The twist here is that the submarines are Italian. This game is in the same vein as other sub games designed by Gregory M. Smith. Even though this is marketed as a solo game two or more gamers can play. They each control one sub and run the same or different patrols. A single patrol can be run in 30 to 90 minutes.

> 24 hourBuilding on the outstanding HuntersHunted series. Well designed and balanced game that shows the difficulty Italian submariners faced. Board Game Geek has outstanding user supplemental options.

> 24 hourCiao (hello) my fellow sub commanders! This is another fun, single player, submarine board game that gives a different playing experience from the other sub single player games, Hunters, Hunted, and Silent victory. If you like the set up for the other games, this is basically the same but with the experience of the Italian sub force in the WW2 Mediterranean theater. I was always curious about the Italian sub force during WW2 and this games gives a nice in depth look into how the sub war was undertaken. I have played multiple times and the games are always different. As with the other games, you will die most of time, chancing rolling the dice a lot, and be using several different cards during play. Also as with the other games, it is really nice because you play a Patrol and then pick up where left off at another time. Do not think it is just the same because you are playing in a whole new different area, the Med., with different type submarines, different type missions, different attacking strategies, etc. I really like the new Commandante and crew status card that keeps track of awards and crew experience (I geeked out and pasted my face on head). Here are two quick run downs of different sub patrol logs: Perle class: Small sub that only operated in Mediterranean; Cool thing was goes on S.L.C. missions which were manned submarines which I let loose on British warships (this is new); how close should I get to let my guys go in to attack, will they be successful finding warships sinking them, will they survive the return to my boat ( only 1 in 3 survived!!) Participated in operation Pedastal, which was the battle for supplying Malta Fun as I acquired many different medals and crew advanced but Vabbe, peccato!!! (oh well) an aircraft sunk me!! Cagni class:Large bad ass sub with 8 forward and 6 aft torpedo tubes; Is able to operate in Mediterranean or out in Atlantic (Hunters area of operation); Was able to attack escorts because so many torpedo tubes and was very successful; Keeps game fresh and different every time because this sub has large operating range; broke through Gibraltar passage to Atlantic, but Vabbe, peccato (oh well) aircraft sunk me heading to Brazil Beneath the Med gives a fun, realistic way to look at and play a part of Commanding a sub during WW2 in a whole new area of operations. You will get respect for you boat, feel the stress of getting depth charged, enjoy the success with medals/tonnage tallies/major warships sunk, and then feel the reality when the wrong number comes up on the dice and you are sunk!! I am having a blast with all these line of sub games and highly recommend them!!! Buoni Caccia!! (good hunting)

> 24 hourFirst game into theHunter type series of sub games. I like that its farily quick to set up and play. Enough decisions to make it interesting. Wish there was a little bit more to upgrade in game, but otherwise I have been having a good time with this one.
