This is a great travel umbrella, I have had other travel umbrellas that do not last ....this is very well made and also push button on/off

It’s not quite as small as I thought it would be but it fits very well into my leather bag and my hiking backpack and it is very sturdy for a compact umbrella. I have used it several times so far and it’s been holding up very well.

I havent used it yet, but it appears to be a nice umbrella. It is actually larger than I expected. Mine was closer to 9 inches then 8.5 inches. And, most likely due to the canopy size, it is also thicker. I measured an 8 inch circumference where the Velcro band is. My Totes mini umbrella has a 6.5 inch circumference. The Goothdurs is definitely not a mini size, but its not full size either. I think compact is probably a better word for it. Fortunately, it is still able to fit in my purse, but I dont think it will fit all purses. I got the violet color. It is very pretty and matches the photo. The rod seems pretty sturdy compared to other non-full size umbrellas Ive had, and I appreciate the auto open/close which is the main reason I bought it. Im hoping that this umbrella will last a long time.
