I was not using this for the spaceship I am building in my kitchen, but instead for looking at alternating current waveforms from backup power devices to see if they are cool for my electronics. The spaceship will wait.

This is a nice probe and a great price. I used it and immediately ordered another for my traveling oscope!!

I do some work on old vacuum tube ham radios. It is fairly common that the final amplifier tubes have 600-800 volts DC on them. Then the signal of 100+ volts AC is applied on top of that. Most 10x probes that come with an oscilloscope are good for 400-600 volts before you destroy them. So, these 100X probes that are good to 2KV are an important tool. I have used this one I purchased only once. But, it works as intended and meets my needs. The probe appears to be well built, reliable and safe to use

I have not tried this on high voltage systems yet, but tested it on my 120V line voltage at my house with my portable osciliscope and it works well, seems to be high quality and will be just the thing I need to check power on 3 phase 460V at work.

This 100:1 scope probe is well made, and worked perfectly allowing me to scope signals that would damage the inputs on my scope. For instance, I wanted to visualize the 60 Hz AC sine wave that was present on a standard 120 VAC line. Because of RMS voltage, the actual line voltage would have been much higher than the input rating on my scope, thus being dangerous and damaging it. By using this 100:1 attenuation probe it was now possible to safely view the waveform. If you set your scope on 100X setting then even the scales read properly on the display.

Used for everything from looking at encoders to VFD’s.

A passive scope probe is a very simple device, no need to spend $$$. I use this with an Analog Discovery 2 USB scope, and old Tek tube scopes. Im sure it would work with just about any scope with 1 Meg input. The compensation range is fairly wide. The 10x/100x switch is handy. Theres no probe readout scaling factor (extra side pin on BNC connector of more expensive probes) but who cares? I can easily multiply by 10 or 100 in my head. One word of caution, like all high voltage probes, the safe working voltage (i.e. no arc over) is reduced at higher (RF) frequencies. Theres a voltage vs frequency derating graph in the instructions, be sure to double check that. But for audio signals, like tube amps, this is not an issue.

This is a 100X probe not a scope nor does it have a 10X switch. It does what it is intended for. Some people dont read. It can be used to measure up to 2,000 Volts DC and 2,000 Volts P-P AC not RMS. If your confused by the numbers or letters used above dont buy it nor use one. 2,000 Volts will kill you and hurt while it is burning thru you. RMS voltage times 2.8284 will give you Peak to Peak Voltage. 2,000VAC (RMS) is equal to 5,656.8 Volts Peak to Peak. So the limit for AC is 707.11 Volts RMS on this probe. And people hands off when measuring 2KV. It is a good probe and functions correctly and I like it!
