Greater than one weekSpirit island is extremely well done. Its more complicated than most board games, especially co-op ones, but is well worth it. The mechanisms work very well and some are rather unique. While it may seem too hard at first, stay with it and youll see that though things may sometimes seem hopeless, gaining a little more power can change the tides completely. Between different boards, spirits (roles), adversaries, and more, this game has lots of variation to make replayability extremely strong. The expansion makes the game even more fun and greatly increases the replayability and variety of each game.

> 3 dayIn my opinion this expansion is a must once you figure out the overall strategy for the core spirit island. After playing a while with the core it is a lot easier to win because you know what is going to happen next. This expansion brings much more excitement to the game with added randomness. The thing about these random event cards is that they arent enough to completely lose a game, but enough to have to change your strategy sometimes. I believe I read somewhere that this expansion was supposed to be part of the core, but greater than games just split up part of the game. This is a must buy for anyone who loves spirit island.

> 3 dayWhile I agree with others that the Event cards may add too much randomness (and at times they slow the game down, reading through all the various portions of the card), for the $, this adds some nice variety and a good number of new Power cards.

> 3 dayAdds a ton of variety to an already meaty experience. Easy to remove too if you wanna teach the base game separate.

> 3 dayExcellent co-op game for serious gamers. Not beginner friendly.

> 3 dayOften times expansions add more mechanics that just make the game more complicated without necessarily having a corresponding increase to enjoyment. No so here!

> 3 dayBranch & Claw offers some new material to Spirit Island that works with the original games structure very elegantly. This feels like a true expansion to the original and not just a collection of additional complications bolted onto the design. There is nothing here that, to me, sticks out as over-complicating or extraneous.
